chapter eight second turn

The thousand orc scouts fall before Crow's army, their oncemighty forms crumpling beneath the onslaught of dark magic and shadowinfused steel. Crow watches with a grim satisfaction, his skeletal hands clenching and unclenching as the battle rages.

As the last of the orcs fall, Crow raises a clawed hand, his eyes glowing with an eerie light. "Rise," he commands, his voice carrying an inhuman weight. The shadows that surround the fallen orcs respond, swirling and coalescing into dark, ethereal forms.

One thousand orcs rise from the dead, their bodies now animated by Crow's dark magic. They stand in rigid formation, their eyes glowing with the same malevolent light as their master's. Crow turns to his resurrected Goblin King, a twisted smile playing across his lips.

"It is a start," he rasps. "But it is not enough.

Crow surveys the dark grove, the twisted trees and undergrowth mirroring the horrific nature of the undead ranks encamped here. His newly resurrected orcs stand with the others silent, twisted statues awaiting his command. The shadow soldiers of the goblin lands, and even some skeletal remains of older, more ancient foes, all turn their attention to Crow as he addresses his general.

"Crow: status report," Crow hisses. "Crow: What are the scouts saying about the orc defenses? Are the siege engines ready?"

The general, an undead orc chieftain, steps forward and bows low, "gobin kong: The orcish strongholds are mighty, sire. They have felled forests to build the palisade walls thick logs the size of siege towers. And word is... they have a sorcerer of no small power in their midst."
