In an instant, the Venom with area-of-effect damage wiped out all players except for me! Their defenses were just too low, but I withstood the attack from the Golden Slime King due to my 35-point defense. Its venom hit me for 150 HP, and I quickly consumed a potion to recover 300 HP, instantly healing 150, while the rest of my health slowly regenerated!
My heart raced with excitement, my chest pounding wildly—Lady Luck was truly favoring me! The first BOSS of the newbie village had appeared right next to me, and it was even during a time when I had dozens of potions!
I quickly checked the BOSS's stats:
Golden Slime King (Bronze-level BOSS)
Level: 15Attack: 85-150Defense: 25Health: ???Attack Type: Ranged venom attack
The BOSS's stats were terrifying—150 attack power, no wonder it managed to take out 150 HP from me in one strike! And the fact that its health was hidden, I couldn't even imagine how much it had!
"Whew!"
I swung my Glimmer Battleaxe, landing a hit on the Slime King's massive head. The beast, the size of a tank, staggered back in pain, and a damage number of "135" appeared above its head.
Looks like I can still deal damage with my 60 attack power (which increased by 15 when I reached level 10).
However, the Slime King quickly retaliated with another venom attack, dealing 167 damage to me, almost half of my health!
I hastily consumed another large potion and pressed on, swinging my battleaxe furiously.
In less than ten minutes, the Slime King's health dropped by about 10%, which wasn't as terrifying as I thought, but my problem was that I was quickly running out of potions!
Just then, I noticed a large group of players approaching from a distance, quickly surrounding me and the BOSS. My heart sank as I saw their guild tag—Prideful World—it was the entire Prideful World family, nearly 300 players!
Prideful World was a massive force, even in the newbie village!
Realizing the situation, I decided not to fight to the death, abandoning my fight with the Golden Slime King and bolting toward the forest.
At that moment, a loud voice boomed from the crowd: "Want to run? Not so easy! Brothers, stop him—this is the guy who offended me!"
It was Prideful Madman! And beside him was Prideful Bloodthirst, the player I had previously taken down, though I didn't know where Prideful Rain had gone.
Hearing the Madman's words, several Prideful World players around me began to stir, some of them wielding wooden sticks, which made me chuckle. Were they really going to try and kill me with that?
However, there was strength in numbers, and I certainly couldn't take on 300 players by myself.
I gripped my Glimmer Battleaxe, watching the players around me, silently warning them that anyone who moved toward me would be struck down immediately.
To my surprise, the ones holding wooden sticks hesitated, none daring to come closer.
Prideful Madman roared in fury: "A bunch of useless fools! Get him!"
Just then, another group appeared from the distance, quickly surrounding the area, their intentions unclear, but their eyes set firmly on the Slime King. It seemed like the players who had died earlier had returned to the village and spread the word about the BOSS's appearance, attracting some stronger teams.
This new group seemed to be at least level 8, and their guild tag all started with Swordfire!
Swordfire!
I suddenly realized, the iron sword I had sold earlier was to someone named Swordfire Dragon Soul.
At that moment, a figure emerged from the crowd—it was Swordfire Dragon Soul himself. He smiled and said, "Oh, this place is lively. I didn't expect Prideful World to arrive before us!"
Dragon Soul had already switched to a new weapon, an iron sword shimmering faintly, likely a black iron-grade weapon. I had no doubt that its attributes were similar to mine. It seemed normal that he would have such equipment, as he was the leader of Swordfire.
Facing the uninvited Swordfire group, the Prideful World players started to feel uneasy. After all, the quality of Prideful World players wasn't the best, and there weren't many above level 8. On the other hand, Swordfire had more strength, even if their numbers were only around 100.
Prideful Madman raised an eyebrow and said, "I didn't expect Dragon Soul to be in this newbie village too. Looks like we can't avoid each other!"
Dragon Soul chuckled, "I didn't expect you all to have joined Lethal Sorrow. We've been familiar with each other for a while, especially after the fall of Sword and Roses and Paradise Lost in Moonlight Eternal. It's been the battle for the west side of Silvermoon City between us and Prideful World!"
Prideful Madman smirked, "Dragon Soul, today's issue is personal between us and that guy. If you'll step aside, we'll handle it ourselves."
Swordfire Dragon Soul glanced at me, probably recognizing my appearance, especially since my Glimmer Battleaxe stood out so much.
He laughed, "I'll give you face and let you take care of your enemy, but the Golden Slime King is ours. You can't take it away. We've come this far!"
Prideful Madman's face darkened. "Don't talk nonsense. This BOSS is ours!"
Just then, one of Swordfire's players, a berserker wielding a giant axe, stepped forward. It was Swordfire Xingtian. He laughed loudly, "Prideful World wants to claim the Golden Slime King? Do you have the guts for it? Hahaha, come at us!"
Xingtian's words embarrassed Prideful Madman, who shouted, "Damn it! Swordfire is trying to take advantage of the situation!"
Dragon Soul calmly responded, "Don't talk nonsense. Haven't you been doing the same? You wiped out so many solo players in leveling areas. You're just as bad as us."
The Madman's face darkened. "Brothers, it's clear Swordfire is out to get us. Let's take them down!"
Instantly, Prideful World players surged forward, attacking with their wooden sticks and broken swords.
Dragon Soul sneered. "Let them attack!"
After several exchanges, the first few players from Swordfire fell, but at the cost of turning a large number of Prideful World players into "red names."
Xingtian laughed and raised his battleaxe high. A powerful attack split the ground, and the leading Prideful World players were instantly wiped out!
Prideful Madman's face grew dark. "Team 1, block the Swordfire bastards! Teams 2 and 3, focus on killing the Golden Slime King!"
While the Swordfire players were held back, half of Prideful World's players turned to attack the BOSS.
I quietly hid in the forest, unwilling to give up. Here I was, watching as these two teams fought over my BOSS!
Prideful World's players were generally lower level, but some higher-tier players had begun attacking with spells like fireballs and meteorites. This gave them a better chance against the Golden Slime King.
Time passed, and the BOSS's health dropped below 50%. However, many Prideful World players had already fallen, some of them using low-level players as cannon fodder.
Meanwhile, Swordfire pressed the attack, pushing Prideful World players back to the village.
In no time, Prideful World's numbers dwindled to less than 50 players.
Seeing the situation, Madman shouted, "Brothers, retreat!"
The Prideful World players scattered, but Swordfire didn't let them escape. They swiftly killed several players, including Madman himself.
Minutes later, the battlefield was entirely under Swordfire's control.
After the bloody skirmish, Swordfire still had around 60 players left, but half of them were red-named. If they died now, they would lose a level!
But the Golden Slime King was right in front of them, and they weren't going to back down. Dragon Soul commanded, "Surround it and kill the BOSS!"
I remained hidden, silently watching.
