Chapter 6: Summer Camp

Just as Ash had expected, Giovanni Oak was extremely enthusiastic about Meowth, as this was the first time he had encountered a Pokémon capable of learning human language!

Moreover, coinciding with Ash's thoughts, Giovanni Oak also considered using Meowth as a translator to communicate with Pokémon.

As a result, Meowth became Giovanni Oak's special assistant. Giovanni Oak even introduced Meowth to other professors, allowing them to seek Meowth's help in translating and solving any issues they had.

Of course, Meowth was still Ash's Pokémon, so Meowth had to return home on time, just like a regular job.

"Giovanni Oak, I've come to pick up Meowth. Please don't overwork him if possible."

Whenever Ash's voice rang out, Giovanni Oak's communication device would be filled with lamentations, as their translator Meowth was about to clock out.

Seeing Ash arrive, Meowth waved at the communication device and said, "My boss is here to pick me up, so let's talk about anything else tomorrow!"

"No! Meowth! Help me with one more thing! Just one!"

Looking at Giovanni Rowan's lamentations on the communication device, Ash tapped it and said, "Giovanni Rowan, it's time for Meowth to clock out. Let him rest. Come on, Meowth, let's go home for dinner."

"Okay, boss."

With his boss's command, Meowth was happy to leave and went home with Ash. Meanwhile, Giovanni Oak's lab was filled with mournful cries.

"Boss, what are we having for dinner today?"

"Today, I steamed a fish for you. For Pikachu, I made lasagna, and for Happiny, I specially ordered some Miltank milk."

Meowth's mouth watered at the mention, but he still asked, "Um, can I try some Miltank milk? I heard it's much better than regular milk."

"Pika!"

Pikachu also tugged at Ash's clothes, indicating that he wanted some too. Looking at his two gluttonous Pokémon, Ash smiled and wiped their drool, saying, "Alright, you two greedy little things. I bought plenty, so it's fine, but make sure to leave some for Happiny."

"Awesome!"

"Pika!"

Seeing Meowth and Pikachu cheer, Ash's smile grew even wider.

When they got home, Delia had already set the table. Meowth and Pikachu immediately took their seats, while Ash took Happiny, who was waving at him from Delia's arms, and sat down.

Delia, watching Ash hold Happiny, couldn't help but smile and say, "Happiny really seems to adore you, Ash."

"Yeah, since I was the first person she saw after she was born, it's natural for her to be close to me. I just need to take good care of this little one. Here, Happiny, this is fresh Miltank milk."

As Ash fed Happiny, he noticed she had already habitually placed her round stone in her pouch. He patted her head and said, "Don't put too much in there, or I won't be able to carry you."

And so, Ash's family dinner began. Watching his mother Delia chat happily with Meowth and Pikachu, and holding Happiny, who had fallen asleep after eating, Ash couldn't help but think, 'This is truly happiness.'

Amidst these warm and happy days, Ash attended a summer camp.

Originally, Delia thought Ash would have a great time playing with kids his age, but who would have thought that Ash would end up playing with a bunch of Pokémon he was already very familiar with, leaving him with hardly any friends his age.

However, there was one exception—a girl named Serena. She had gotten lost and injured, and with the help of Ash's Pokémon, who were always eager to tag along for meals, Ash found her.

Seeing Serena still crying, Ash felt a bit helpless. But just as he was at a loss, Happiny stepped forward and began comforting Serena.

Serena was drawn to the pink little cutie and gradually stopped crying.

It was then that she realized she was surrounded by Pokémon, with Ash standing in front of her with Meowth and Pikachu.

"Feeling better? If you're okay, let's head back."

"Okay, um, you're Ash, right? I'm Serena..."

"I know. Can you walk now?"

Serena tried to move, but her foot hurt too much. Seeing this, Ash knew she couldn't walk on her own, so he crouched down and said, "Hop on, I'll carry you back.

Don't mind my friends; they're just cautious around strangers."

Blushing slightly, Serena climbed onto Ash's back.

"Thank you..."

"No problem, but be more careful next time. You can't always be this lucky."

Afterward, with the Pokémon leading the way, Ash brought Serena back, and the summer camp concluded successfully.

However, when it was time to leave, Serena seemed reluctant to part with Ash, which led to plenty of teasing from Delia and Giovanni Oak.

And so, time passed until Ash turned 15, finally reaching the age when he could set off on his journey.
