The Devil’s Game

The noise fade away as Alex and Sophia stares deeply into each other's eyes, like if they wanted to see through each other's soul.

Alex, smirked and asked, his voice deep and also tempting, Are you sure you want to who exactly I am?, once you know, there is no turning back. His eyes narrowed as he questioned Sophia.

Sophia gulped, when she saw how serious Alex had become, and she thought , is he an underworld drug lord, or a murderer. She felt a chill as she began to sweat.

Alex smiled seeing her scared, so he took her hand and walked out of the dance floor. They started climbing the stairs until they reached the top. Then, he looked in a direction that was surprisingly a casino area. It was filled with various games, as rich men played from roulettes to blackjacks, and many others. Sophia turned to look in the direction he was staring and was shocked to see a casino.

She thought to herself, Fuck, what is a casino doing in a hotel like this? Then, she turned to Alex and asked, Alex, what is a casino doing here? Alex replied, Well, it's a special occasion, so normally there are a few underworld and drug lords in this hotel currently. So, yes, the casino will be here. His voice was deep and full of assurance.

You wanna play? Alex pointed towards the roulette area.

No, I'm not playing, Sophia replied.

But Alex looked at her with an expression that said, Ah, are you sure? Then he said, You want to know who I am, what I am, and you don't want to play?"

Sophia turned towards him in confusion. What does that have to do with you?

Well, if you want to know exactly who I am, you need to start with this, Alex said.

Then Sophia protested, Gambling is really not my thing.

Alex sighed, rolling his eyes. Do I really have to explain everything to you? he said with tiredness in his voice.

He then grabbed her hand and pulled her closer to the casino area. Facing her, look at all these rich men, he said. Bastards at day, and scorn at night, but one thing that I do like them for, that I also have, is the thirst for money and power and fame. Alex told her, bringing Sophia close to his body.

If you should ask Sophia, Sophia never registered the first word because she was so mesmerized by being close to Alex. Currently, Alex's body was pressed against hers.

Alex continued, Money being the first thing on their minds, and they don't care how they get it. Hell, yeah! You asked me if you wanted to know who I am, what exactly I am. Then you need to start getting used to the underworld.

Alex said, his hand sliding towards Sophia's waist, bringing her closer as he bit her ear.

Sophia gasped and moaned, but she quickly stopped, embarrassed.

During the whole speech, Alex kept Sophia in a tight embrace, her breast pressed against his chest. His words were like the devil's whispers, yet they sent chills and pleasure towards Sophia's spine.

Alex took Sophia's hand and led her to the casino area. As they approached the high stakes table, Alex's confident walk and aura seemed to command the attention of everyone present. Coupled with Sophia's tall, elegant, and beautiful appearance, it made everyone think that these two were the king and queen of the underground world.

Not knowing sophia was just a docile girl who had just graduated from the university. The ongoing game paused momentarily as players turned their heads to witness their entrance.

We would like to play, Alex declared, his voice commanding authority. His gaze passed through each and every person around the table, even through his mask. Nothing seemed free from his gaze, no one dared to challenge his request.

The casino's noise and vibrant aura seemed to hush as his words hung in the air, and it sank to everyone's ears.

Everyone around was stunned by their presence. Each and every one of the women kept stealing glances at Alex, making the men feel jealous and hostile towards him. But few men were also staring at Sophia, thinking about how beautiful she is and how lucky they would be if she was theirs for taking.

Sophia sensing this men inappropriate glances held onto Alex's arm, scared.

Alex, feeling her fear, growled at the men with anger and looked at each and every one of the men there as if saying, she mine. They stopped casting glances at Sophia and made space for both Sophia and Alex as they joined the table.

A few of the bolder men couldn't resist whispering their comments, though meant to be discreet, hinted at their intention of wanting to know who Sophia and Alex is.

As the game started, Alex began playing, picking the right moves and effortlessly turning the odds in his own favor. It was a bad thing for the men at the table, and an unexpected turn on for the women who were watching, witnessing Alex, who only not belonged but excelled in a game they often considered their domain.

However, with each round the men finding themselves losing a lot and also losing themselves in anger . Alex remained emotionlessly stoic, his eyes never leaving the deck, never once revealing a smile or blinking, as the odds fell in their favor.

As they waited for the next round, Alex's eyes never strayed from the deck. With a slight nod, he began to play. It was unbelievable, but Alex's control over the game was evident, as if he was the one who created the game he was winning.

And Sophia thought to herself, How can he be doing this? He's playing as if he already knows what to play, which odds to play. Just God, tell me, what can't this man do already? Sophia thought to herself as the game went on.
