Karl Richardson's eyes welled up with tears as he gazed at Richard, his friend's unexpected return a shock to his system. "Richard, I've missed you so much!"
Richard's smile was warm, his eyes shining with affection. "I've missed you too, Karl."
As they hugged, Karl's mind reeled with questions. How was Richard alive? What had happened to him? But before he could ask, Richard began to explain.
"Karl, I have something to tell you. Something that will change everything."
Karl's curiosity was piqued. "What is it?"
Richard took a deep breath before launching into his story. "I'm an eternal being, Karl. I've lived countless lives, in countless worlds. I can travel between realms, between dimensions."
Karl's eyes widened in shock. "What? That's impossible!"
Richard's expression was serene. "Not for me, Karl. I've been doing this for thousands of years, maybe more."
As Karl struggled to wrap his head around Richard's words, his friend continued to explain. "I've seen civilizations rise and fall, Karl. I've seen the birth of new ideas and the death of old ones. And through it all, I've been watching, learning."
Karl's mind reeled with questions, but before he could ask, Richard dropped another bombshell. "And you, Karl, are my friend, my ally. I've been watching over you, guiding you when I can."
Karl's eyes narrowed. "Guiding me? How?"
Richard's smile was enigmatic. "In small ways, Karl. A nudge here, a push there. I've been helping you navigate the complexities of this world."
As Karl sat in stunned silence, Richard's words hung in the air, challenging everything he thought he knew about reality. But despite the shock, despite the fear, Karl felt a sense of excitement, of anticipation.
He knew that his life was about to change forever.
"Okay, Richard," Karl said finally, his voice barely above a whisper. "I think I understand. But what's next? What happens now?"
Richard's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Now, Karl, we take things to the next level. We start to explore the possibilities of realm travel, of eternal life."
As Karl nodded, a sense of determination washed over him. He was ready to embark on this new journey, to explore the multiverse with Richard by his side.
But as they sat there, the world around them seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of them, suspended in a sea of possibility.
Karl's voice was barely audible. "Richard?"
"Yes, Karl?" Richard replied, his eyes shining with warmth.
"Thank you," Karl said, his voice filled with emotion. "For being here for me. For guiding me."
Richard's smile was gentle. "Anytime, Karl. Anytime."
As they sat there, the silence between them was filled with a sense of possibility, of adventure. Karl knew that his life would never be the same again, and he was grateful for it.
The next step in their journey was about to begin, and Karl was ready.
