Promise Me?

Morning came and Skye was curled up on Leonard. Her head was on his chest, hand on his shirt, her leg tucked between his. She didn't remember when she was knocked out, but her body must've needed it. His chest rose and fell slowly under her cheek. She could hear his heartbeat.

"Did you sleep well, soldier?" he said, voice rough.

She lifted her head. "Are you calling me a soldier because I sleep like I'm fighting demons?"

He smirked. "No. Because you snore like one."

Skye's eyes widened. "I do not."

Leonard chuckled low, his hand rubbing her side. "You snore, sweetheart. It's small but definitely there."

She groaned and dropped her head on his chest. "Kill me."

He laughed again. "Later. Let's get you in the bath first before you start complaining about swollen ankles."

Before she could say no, he scooped her up like she was weightless. She gasped. "Leonard, I can walk."

"Then walk next time. Let me spoil you today."
