The tall chandeliers in the hallways gave a sparkling effect though the tiled floors. The hotel crews and assistant immediately assisted the visitors. All of them smiled at the Alpha's family.
However, as soon as they headed inside the private dining room they reserved, the atmosphere quickly changed. Expensive foods and drinks, especially wine were already served.
All of them sat down and the conversation was started by the true leader. The Alpha and the leader of the family.
"As I mentioned earlier, our business is getting more sponsors and exposure all over the world. This will push people to know more about our personal life. Including the family we have and the structure of our bloodline." His slanted eyes looked at his son who had the same features as his.
A bitter taste from his lips was left in that glass. He did not like the wine. He has not been in a good mood since earlier. He did not want any gap, especially if the people would find it a way to break his family's reputation.
"I heard that you took a stray kitten, Axel." He said.
Hearing this, Axel's expression turned sour. This is because his father is always like this whenever they are having a family dinner. The topic is always about him.
"Do you even know what people would think if they heard or knew about this?" His father asked. His eyes gazed into his son, waiting for the reasons he didn't want to hear from his mouth.
"Do you know what you're getting yourself in, Axel?" He asked again.
"I know what I'm doing, Father." The Alpha answered. His mother looked at him with her soft eyes while shaking her head.
"You can't even do what I told you to do." His father's voice turned a little louder. "I told you to find someone who can suit our family as your wife. I don't want my grandson to grow up without a mother." He pinched the bridge of his nose in disappointment.
The beautiful woman sitting next to him held his hand. "Please don't pressure our son." She said, "You know what he'd been through, Nicholas." She added.
Nicholas, Axel's father just only looked at his wife. He understands his son, but time is running out and they are not getting any younger. Theo is also growing and he did not like his grandson to grow up without a mother by his side.
"I only wanted what's best in my family. You know that Theo will continue our bloodline and generation. A successful Alpha without a mother by his side is unacceptable." Nicholas said.
"You should know what you need to do by now, Axel. I already gave you enough chances. Make a move and don't disappoint me and your mother." He added.
Axel looked at his father. "I am doing everything I can, father. I already told you that Theo will grow the way you wanted even without a mom," he said.
He is supposed to be spending time with his family talking about how they have been in life, not all this business talk. He is already tired from talking about business all day. He thought that this family dinner will help him relax from the responsibilities left on him.
"I will be the one who will decide if my grandson is doing well or not. Marry a new omega, Axel. I am giving you another chance. Don't disappoint me." Nicholas firmly said.
He had no intention of letting his side go. He wanted what he wanted and he will not break his words. He believed that as the leader of this family, his decisions matter.
"Instead of finding a new wife, you took a stray kitten inside your home just because your son likes her? I did not teach you to pick up trash, Axel."
Hearing this, Axel's mood immediately changed the way he looked at his father. He wiped the side of his lips and stood up. He walked out of the private dining room without any words. He heard his mother call for him but ignored it.
His footsteps became heavy, preparing the cigarette from his pocket and the lighter he carried with him. He took the elevator going down to the lobby and as soon as the elevator opened, a familiar person surprised him.
Both of them looked at each other. That person is waiting for the elevator to go down while he comes from above.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, gently grabbing Hazel's arm. He pulled her towards the side of the elevator in that close corner. He looked around, maybe looking for the men he sent to watch the lady.
"I'm fine, don't worry." Hazel grabbed his attention. "Your men are with my friend. I told them to look after her while I'm gone."
Axel quickly smelled the strong alcohol scent and he did not like it. It made him more irritated. He didn't know that this lady could drink.
"Where have you been?" That question came out from his mouth unconsciously. "I told you to fix your stuff today. Have you been drinking?" he asked.
Hazel was pierced by those sharp eyes. She felt like the Alpha would kill her if she lied so she told him the truth.
"You are wrong. My friend invited me to a get together party and–" She was stopped by the Alpha.
"Do you know what time it is already?" He asked.
"I know it's late, but let me explain please." Hazel insisted. "I'm not drunk, I am fine. My friend lives here and I took her because she is very drunk."
She gulped and tried to maintain her straight posture. The truth is she is already drunk. She fell asleep in the car on their way here. The reason why she left Adeline with her bodyguards is because she was looking for the bathroom to wash her face, but unluckily she bumped into the Alpha.
To her surprise, Axel cupped her cheeks and tilted her chin up. Her heart started to palpitate when he leaned closer.
She was not ready for a kiss!
