Chapter 13

"What is he going to do?"

"Is he angry at me?"

"Is he going to slap me or something?"

"Why did he tilt my chin up?" 

"Is he going to kiss me?!"

These questions popped inside her mind. Her heart started to palpitate faster than someone who takes coffee as water everyday. She had no experience with romance and being this close to a guy is her first time.

Hazel closed her eyes shut. If the Alpha wanted to kiss her, she did not want him to see her face. Axel might laugh at her or mocked her for being noob. She was not ready for a kiss either.

The Alpha saw her close her eyes. Her cheeks being held together looks like a pufferfish to him. He found it cute and wanted to tease him. But then he remembered that there are a lot of roaming Alphas here and this place is not safe for Hazel.

Axel untuckled the buttons of his black coat. He loosened his necktie and took off his black coat. He gently wrapped it around the lady's head, covering her face then he swiftly lifted her up like a princess in his arms.

Hazel was surprised. Her hands quickly grabbed the Alpha's neck. She didn't know what was happening because she was blinded by the coat covered around her head.

"Eh! What is happening?!" She yelped in every step the Alpha is taking. "Where are we going?"

Axel took the elevator, but still did not let go of Hazel. He held her even more tighter in his arms making sure to carefully make her comfortable in his embrace.

"What about my friend?!" Hazel panicked. "I still need to–"

"Just stay still," Axel whispered to her.

Hazel did not move and stayed still. She was so embarrassed to take off the coat because she did not want Axel to see her expression. 

On the other hand, Axel covered her face because there are a lot of CCTVs there. Not only those cameras but also those people who know him. They will quickly notice him and might gossip about him having a woman in the wrong way.

His father was already disappointed in him. Taking responsibility for wrong issues is not his thing. He also did not want Hazel to be involved in his family issues. He wanted the lady out of it. 

As soon as they reached the 5th floor, he leaned closer to the lady and asked her to take his card under the coat on her face. Hazel did what was told to her. She traced the pocket and found the black card. 

Axel took it and then swiped it to open the door. After that, he closed the door and then headed to the sofa, putting the lady down.

Hazel removed the black coat. Her eyes roamed around the big living room she was into. The sofa is soft and wide. Two people can lay there and sleep comfortably. The big glass window was covered by long thick curtains to block the sunlight.

The ambiance of the room is comfortable. The scented air freshener tickled her nose. While she is quietly observing the room, Axel took out his phone and then dialed the numbers of people he needed to talk to.

After minutes of talking to his phone, he went back to the lady.

"Are you cold? I can turn off the AC." Axel asked after seeing Hazel with the black coat wrapped around her shoulders.

"No, no! It's fine." The lady insisted. She again remembered Adeline. "Wait, what about my friend?" she asked.

She followed the Alpha sitting down on the solo sofa across from her. "I don't want to leave her in the lobby. Your men–" 

"I already told my men what to do with your friend. She will be fine." Axel cut her off. 

Hazel felt relieved. She leaned her back on the sofa and then closed her eyes. Her vision started to double and that sudden push from her abdomen made her curled. Hazel covered her mouth and sprang up. 

"Bathroom!" She exclaimed. 

However, before Axel could answer, something unexpected already happened. The most embarrassing moment of Hazel's life occurred. She threw up on the carpet, all over her clothes.

Her clumping abdomen made her very sick and before she even noticed, Axel was already on her side. 

The Alpha took her hair and brushed her back while she was throwing up. After that, she found herself in a bathtub filled with water. It took her minutes before realizing what she did earlier.

She sprang and tried to step out of the bathtub when another person entered the bathroom. Axel looked at him. He is wearing his white polo with the long sleeves rolled up to his elbow. 

Both of them looked at each other, the lady was the first one to look away. Her cheeks flushed red from the embarrassing moment she did minutes ago.

"Your friend is already in her unit. I told my man to make sure that she was safe," he went to the sink and washed his hands. "Also, I already called hotel service to clean the carpet and the living room."

Axel brushed his hair up. "I put new clothes here. Clean yourself up. You can stay here for the night. I will leave after—-"

"No!" Hazel exclaimed, getting the Alpha's attention. "I mean, I'm really sorry! I will make sure to pay for everything." 

"I am not charging you," Axel said straight to the point. 

Hazel lowered her head. "I'm really sorry. I caused a scene and bothered you." She said, blaming herself for her recklessness.

"I'm not asking anything in return. You are under my care as your employer and boss. Besides, you are my son's nanny." Axel said.

Hazel felt those words slowly piercing her. A sudden silence occupied the bathroom. The silence was so loud that she could hear the drops of water. 

"Wash yourself and stay here for the night. I will ask my driver to fetch you tomorrow. Theo will look for you." Axel said before walking out and closing the door.
