Chapter 13: Do You Think The Fever Fried Weiwei’s Brain?

While they were talking, Aunt Wu came to call them for dinner. When she walked into the living room and found them having such a harmonious conversation, she was so happy she almost cried.

This was the first peaceful conversation the young couple had had in a long time. She felt that God was finally shining his light in this house that had almost turned into a living hell. Even though she couldn't bear to disturb them, they still needed to eat so she cleared her throat and informed them about dinner.

"Young Master, Young Madam, dinner is ready."

"Alright Aunt Wu, we'll be there in a moment." Replied Weiwei, then she turned to Mo Shian and said, "Let's go have dinner before it gets cold."

"Okay."

Mo Shian and Weiwei headed to the bathroom to wash their hands and then went to sit down at the dining table. Mo Shian pulled out a chair for Weiwei like a gentleman and only sat down next to her after she was seated. Aunt Wu served the dishes and then retreated to the kitchen.

There was green bean soup, sweet and sour pork ribs, braised mushrooms, stir-fried shrimp, and rice.

Weiwei loved eating shrimps but couldn't peel the shell to save her own life. So, as soon as the dishes were served, Mo Shian put on disposable gloves and started peeling shrimps and depositing them on Weiwei's plate. She was eating them so happily that Mo Shian was content just watching her and couldn't care less about eating himself.

"You should eat too. Don't just peel shrimps for me and forget about yourself." Weiwei reminded Mo Shian as she picked up a piece of sweet and sour pork rib and put it on his plate.

"It's okay, I will eat later, I'll just peel a few more for you." Mo Shian really just wished he could peel shrimps for her forever and watch her eat. It filled his heart with indescribable joy. Over the last two months, every time he peeled shrimp for her, she would refuse to eat and sometimes even leave the dining table. So, now seeing her eat the shrimps he peeled with so much gusto made him want to keep peeling.

"That's enough, I already have a plate full of shrimps. If you peel them more, I won't be able to finish them and they will just go to waste, then your hard work will be wasted. Here eat too" Weiwei said as she placed two peeled shrimps in Mo Shian's plate and went on to serve him rice and mushrooms. After dinner, Weiwei went back to the living room to watch TV while Mo Shian excused himself to go to the study to do some work.

As soon as he walked into the study, Mo Shian picked up his mobile phone and called Gu Yan. Gu Yan picked up almost immediately because he was worried something might have happened to Weiwei. As soon as the phone connected he heard Mo Shian ask a strange question,

"Do you think the fever fried Weiwei's brain?"

"What do you mean, Mo Shian? Be clear and stop asking strange questions."

"I mean it, Weiwei is acting strangely. Last night she didn't even want to hear my name and now she is acting as if the last two months never happened." Mo Shian continued.

"Could you please elaborate some more? I am a bit confused. What do you mean she's acting like the last two months never happened?" Gu Yan couldn't help but ask.

"I mean today when I got home from work, she smiled at me, hung my coat, allowed me to move back to the master bedroom, watched TV with me, and even had a conversation with me while we were watching TV, then had dinner with me, that is not normal!!" Mo Shian rattled on without taking a break. Even Gu Yan felt confused now.

"Maybe she came back to her senses and realized that she was wrong. Talk to her, you are her husband for Pete's sake."

"What if I ask and she goes back to being angry with me? I'd rather just be ignorant of what caused her to change." Mo Shian said.

"Then why are you bothering me? You think I have the answers to questions regarding your wife that you don't even have?"

"If you talk to me that way again I'll pull out my investment in your research." Mo Shian said in a cold business-like voice. It's like the person who was all flustered a while ago was someone else. Gu Yan couldn't believe it.

"Alright, I don't know why your wife is behaving strangely, but just enjoy it. She might have come to her senses and is ready to build a home with you boss," Said Gu Yan, and before he could ask if there was anything else, Mo Shian hung up.

"Crazy bastard." Gu Yan mattered before he put his phone away.

Mo Shian put down his phone and sat at his desk to go through the documents regarding the new high-end mall. It was scheduled to open in three months, and some people were still dragging their asses with the proposal.

Weiwei stood outside the door of the study with the glass of milk in hand and wondered whether she should just knock and pretend not to have heard Mo Shian's conversation with Gu Yan. While watching TV, she spotted Aunt Wu on her way to the study with a cup of coffee. She had instructed her to change it into a glass of milk and then give it to her so that she could deliver it to Mo Shian and use it as an excuse to chat with him for a while.

Who would have expected she would overhear a conversation with Mo Shian asking Gu Yan if the fever she had had fried her brain? She understood that her change was too sudden, but was it really that shocking? She almost burst out laughing when she heard Mo Shian bombarding Gu Yan with all those ridiculous questions. But she thought he was actually quite cute.
