The atmosphere in the study became a little awkward as it felt like the husband and wife were starting to know each other again. For Mo Shian, it had been over two months since he had a happy and harmonious relationship with Weiwei. As for Weiwei, it was an entire lifetime. Five years of their previous lives.
Even though she had made the decision to build a better relationship with her husband and communicate more, she was still not used to it.
But she knew that she was the one who had started all these problems, and she had to take the lead to solve them.
So, she chose to open the conversation.
"Uh…Shian, I need to talk to you about something." She started.
"Go ahead, whatever you have in mind, feel free to tell me anything." Replied Mo Shian with a slight smile hanging on his lips.
"I want to start a studio focusing on jewelry design. I have a few designs that I have created, and some that belonged to my mother. Am sure she would be happy to see her work making people happy."
"However, I don't know much about running a business, and I wanted your opinion on this."
"Do you think my idea is feasible?"
Weiwei chose to make it a discussion instead of just informing him. It showed that she respected his opinion. Also, she was still working on letting Mo Shian understand that she loved him and wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. So, she had to make sure that he understood that his opinion mattered and was very important to her.
She was sure that he would support all her decisions, so she wasn't worried that asking for his opinion would lead to conflict.
"Have you chosen a suitable location for the studio?"
"The physical location of your studio is going to affect the type of clients who walk into the shop."
Just as Weiwei had expected, Mo Shian was very supportive of her idea and dis not ask any unnecessary questions. Instead, he started to give ideas on what would be good for business.
"I haven't had the time to choose a location, but I think renting a small office building in the heart of the city would drive more high-end customers to the store."
"My target clientele is the wealthy class, but I will think of expanding later and design more affordable jewelry for middle class customers."
"That is not a bad idea. Whatever you need just let me know. I am your husband and I will support your dreams no matter what you want to do."
"The Mo Corporation has an office building opposite the current location. It is not as big as those of established companies, but it has twenty floors, a private parking space, and is fully furnished."
"You can use it as a studio, it is also big enough for you to expand in the future so that you won't have to move once your business becomes bigger." Mo Shian suggested. He was glad that he had not agreed to rent the place to another person when the executive managers suggested it a few months ago. If Weiwei opens her studio right opposite his office, then he could see her whenever he wanted as long as she was in the office.
"But, I wanted to rely on myself to start my business and….."
Before Xia Weiwei could finish the sentence, she was interrupted by Mo Shian .
"Come here." Mo Shian motioned for her to get up and go around the desk to him.
Weiwei got up and walked to her husband. Just as she got close, Mo Shian stretched out his hand and grabbed her waist. He sat her on his lap and couldn't help but lower his head to sniff her hair. She smelled so good that he almost couldn't control himself.
If she wasn't on her period, he really wanted to do many things to her.
Mo Shian wrapped his arms around Weiwei's waist and leaned his chin on her shoulder.
"Baby, you have to remember that you and I are husband and wife. What is mine is yours. Don't draw such a clear line between us. It makes me feel useless and it feels like you treat me like an outsider."
Weiwei could feel herself heating up as she was so close to the man of her dreams. She really wanted to turn around and pounce on Mo Shian, but after hearing what he said, she realized that it was true. She was treating him like an outsider. She had already made the decision to let the entire world know that she was Mo Shian's wife, so why was she so particular about how her business started or how it would run.
It was mostly because she did not want people to say that she was not good enough for him, or that even though she had a business, she depended on her husband to succeed. She wanted to be recognized for her own hard work and success. But she had forgotten that the person with the most important opinion in their marriage was the two of them, anyone else did not matter
She felt that she had not learned enough in her previous life. Mo Shian never cared about what other people said about her. He only cared about loving her, so why did other people's opinion matter?
She made a decision. She was not going to make her husband unhappy just to avoid other people's speculations.
"Alright, I will use the Mo Corporation building then. I just didn't want people to say that I depended on you to run my business. I want everyone to know that Mo Shian's wife is capable of standing on her own."
"You don't need to care about other people's opinion. It doesn't matter. As long as you are happy, you can do whatever you want. I will always support you."
"Okay then. The studio problem is resolved. Now I have another issue I need your help with." Said Weiwei.
