Sora reached out to grab it, but Ideor stopped him with a swift gesture. “Wait a minute, kid,” he said in a low voice. “He's trying to sell you this thing at way too high a price. This crystal isn't even worth half of what you're offering him.”

The merchant frowned, annoyed by Ideor's intervention, but he didn't let on. “Are you sure about this, old alchemist?” he said with a sneer. “I'm a businessman, not a liar.”

“I didn't say you were lying, old monkey. But I know a scam when I see one.” Ideor raised an accusing finger. “You know very well that this crystal isn't worth more than a handful of ecus in its current state. And you expect a young mercenary like him to fall for it.”

Sora, who was feeling a little lost in this discussion, decided to remain silent, carefully observing the exchange unfolding before him. The merchant seemed to take a moment to reflect before quickly replacing the Moon Crystal in his trunk.
