Master Miller Fiercely Protects His Wife

Sophia looked at Joseph and said, "You can ask Joseph."

Joseph saw her confidence, and a hint of malice flashed in his eyes.

"What video are you talking about, Mia?" Joseph pretended to be clueless.

Mia angrily threw Sophia's phone at Joseph. "You scoundrel, see for yourself!"

Joseph picked up the phone and saw the video of him making a bet with Sophia.

"I didn’t record this," he said, scrolling through Sophia’s messages. "Sophia must have asked someone else to create this video so she wouldn’t have to attend the wedding."

Sophia wasn’t surprised at all.

This man was shameless.

But his lies only made her think of Robert’s warmth.

Because Robert had given her the marriage certificate, even if Joseph denied the bet, the certificate itself couldn’t be fake.

"Sophia, you've been with the Mu family for years, and I’ve investigated you," Joseph continued. "You have a good reputation, and your colleagues like you. Your family tried to force unreasonable conditions on me for the marriage, but I still agreed."

"But I never thought you would look so innocent on the surface, yet be so shameless behind my back. You even used a fake video to frame my son and embarrass me today. You're truly cunning!"

Mia picked up a teacup from the table and threw it at Sophia.

Sophia could have dodged, but if she angered Mia further, she might not be able to leave today.

She had come to resolve the situation, not to make things worse.

The teacup hit her stomach, causing a sharp pain.

"Ms. Mia, whether the video is real or fake, we can have an expert check it," she said. She noticed Joseph's fingers sliding on her phone and quickly took it back from him.

"I trust my son more than you," Mia said coldly, her sharp eyes locked on Sophia. "Kneel down right now."

Sophia stood tall, lifted her chin slightly, and refused to back down.

"Not a chance!"

Mia’s expression darkened. "Someone, break her legs!"

Immediately, two tall bodyguards stepped forward to grab Sophia.

"Don’t touch me!" Sophia quickly defended herself.

"Mom..." Joseph finally spoke, trying to stop things, but Mia cut him off.

"Shut up!" She scolded him harshly. "You useless fool! If you couldn’t watch over Sophia, you should have just tied her up and completed the wedding! Now look how much you've embarrassed me!"

Joseph let Mia curse at him, but he knew his mother well. If she said she would break Sophia’s legs, she meant it.

He didn’t care about Sophia’s legs.

But he did care about Robert standing behind her.

"Step aside!" Joseph suddenly pushed away the bodyguard who was about to grab Sophia. "Don’t touch her!"

Sophia wasn’t fooled by his sudden kindness—she knew exactly what he was thinking.

The next moment, she pulled out her marriage certificate and threw it in Joseph’s face.

"You kneel for me!"

Joseph's body froze when he saw the certificate in his hands.

The bright red document, with a photo of Sophia and Robert, burned his eyes like fire.

Sophia was smiling brightly in the picture, while Robert looked cool and noble. Their styles were different, yet somehow, they matched perfectly.

Joseph's fingers tightened around the certificate, his knuckles turning white.

Yesterday, he didn’t believe Robert would ever be interested in Sophia.

But now, he believed it.

"Sophia…" His voice was full of rage as he glared at her, his eyes red with anger. "You’re so shameless! What did you do to seduce Robert and get this?"

Sophia looked at him coldly. "Joseph, if you make a bet, you have to accept losing. Kneel!"

For the first time in his life, Joseph had been rejected by a woman. And worse, he had lost to her.

His handsome face twisted with bitterness.

"Forget it! There was never any bet between us!"

Mia’s eyes widened in shock. She quickly grabbed the marriage certificate from Joseph’s hands.

"What?!" She was completely stunned. "You actually married Robert?"

Before Sophia could answer, Mia’s face twisted in fury. "Impossible! Robert would never be interested in a useless woman like you. You are still my son’s fiancée! This marriage certificate must be fake!"

"Whether it’s fake or not, you can call my husband to confirm," Sophia said calmly.

The word "husband" made Mia tremble with anger.

"I don’t believe it! You don’t even have a way to contact President Robert!"

"River City isn’t that big," Sophia said lightly. "Even if the Mu family and the Miller family don’t do business together, it shouldn’t be hard for you to find a way to contact him."

"Mom, you have to believe me! How could I ever lie to you?" Joseph quickly jumped in, trying to twist the truth. "Sophia and her family tried to extort ten million from me before the wedding. When I refused, they threatened to cancel it."

"I was so angry that I kicked them out of our family villa," he continued. "How could a woman like Sophia possibly know Robert? They’re just greedy for money. When I didn’t give in, she came up with this whole scheme!"

Sophia scoffed. "Joseph, it must be exhausting to tell so many lies just to avoid kneeling."

Then, she looked at Mia. "I came here today to make things clear. I have nothing to do with Joseph, with you, or with my family anymore. From now on, we are strangers."

Mia’s face twisted with rage.

"Sophia! I see now how greedy and shameless your family is! You accuse my son of lying, but I believe YOU are the real fraud! I won’t give you a single penny, let alone ten million. I want all of you to kneel before me and return everything you took from my Garcia family!"

Just then, a cold, deep voice interrupted.

"Who says Sophia is a fraud?"
