The Scumbag Returned to His Home Country

Henry’s face stiffened.

“Sophia…”

“Dad, what is it?” Sophia asked gently.

Henry looked at Sophia, his eyes flickering. He picked up a glass of wine from the table and drank it all in one go.

“Sophia, there’s something I don’t know how to tell you.”

“Just say it,” Sophia said softly. “Your daughter is strong. Nothing can break me.”

Henry opened his mouth but, in the end, he sighed helplessly. “There’s nothing I need to tell you.”

“Nothing to tell me?” Sophia asked. “Does that mean I can assume I’m not your biological daughter?”

Henry panicked. “Sophia, don’t say that! You are our biological daughter.”

“Then why am I treated differently from my siblings at home?” Sophia asked.

“I already answered that. It’s because you owe your sister a debt,” Henry said seriously. “When it comes to debts, they must be repaid.”

“By making two sisters serve one husband?” Sophia looked at Henry. “Dad, I’ve always known you were just afraid of Mom, but I never thought you actually believed this too.”

Henry remained silent, clearly uncomfortable, and kept drinking.

“Daddy…” Sophia reached out and held Henry’s hand.

“Do you know something?” Henry asked Sophia.

“I don’t know anything,” Sophia shook her head. “I just don’t understand why I have to be treated like this. I am a person, not an object. I am your and Mom’s biological daughter. How can you just sell me like this?”

“It’s better if you don’t know anything,” Henry pulled his hand away from Sophia and continued drinking.

“Sophia…” Henry raised his glass to Sophia. “Come, have a drink with Daddy.”

Sophia knew that Henry was trying to change the subject. She stopped asking and raised her glass to clink with him.

She knew Henry wouldn’t tell her the truth about her identity. But when she tried to ask about his biological daughter, Henry’s face clearly showed that something was wrong.

She couldn’t push Henry too hard. Only her parents knew the truth about her identity. Asking Ava and Abigail was not realistic. The only person she could get information from was her father, Henry. She had to take it slow.

When she returned to the mansion, Anthony was waiting for her. She hugged him tightly.

“Did you miss me?”

Anthony nodded.

“Master Miller, what are you doing here?” Sophia looked surprised at Robert.

“You asked me to accompany our son, so wherever he goes, I go too,” Robert said in a mysterious tone.

Sophia chuckled. “Master Miller is so obedient.”

Robert remained silent.

“Baby, I have a gift for you.” Sophia took out a crystal ball and placed it on the table. “This is Ocean Blue. Look at the shells and mermaids inside…”

Robert watched as Sophia and Anthony leaned close together, his eyes full of warmth and tenderness.

The next day, while Robert was out with Sophia, she went to the airport to pick up someone.

“Sophia, I’m here!” Ye Luo shouted loudly, wearing black sunglasses that covered half his face.

Sophia saw Ye Luo and smiled brightly.

But when she saw the person standing next to Ye Luo, her smile froze on her face.

Steven, wearing a brown suit and gold-rimmed glasses, looked stunning in Sophia’s eyes.

“Sophia, you look beautiful,” he said, taking the initiative. “I didn’t expect you to come pick me up.”

“My Sophia is always beautiful,” Ye Luo laughed and linked arms with Sophia. “Steven, there’s no use regretting it now. My Sophia doesn’t want you anymore.”

Standing next to Steven was a tall, revealingly dressed woman.

She saw Sophia in her black professional suit, which outlined her graceful figure. She looked capable and mature, exuding a different kind of beauty. The woman was jealous and sneered, “Ha… seeing an old lover and your eyes go straight? If I tell my dad, do you believe me when I say he’ll destroy your hospital?”

“Tsk tsk, Ning Shu, your tone is really sour,” Ye Luo retorted. “If you hadn’t actively seduced Steven, you wouldn’t even have the chance to talk about destroying his hospital.”

“You…” Ning Shu stomped her foot in anger.

“Congratulations on opening your hospital,” Sophia smiled and congratulated Steven generously.

“What’s there to congratulate? You’re just living off a woman,” Ye Luo said with a meaningful smile. “If it weren’t for Sophia giving up the only opportunity to study abroad for you, where would you be today, you unfaithful scum?”

Steven’s expression darkened, but he didn’t deny it.

“Why are you talking like that?” Ning Shu glared at Ye Luo angrily. “My Ah Zhen got the only spot based on his real abilities. What does that have to do with Sophia?”

“I speak my mind,” Ye Luo shrugged. “Steven and I have known each other for a long time, so I can say whatever I want. You don’t have the right to speak here. You only think you’re important because your dad has money. Without money, Steven wouldn’t even acknowledge you.”

“Ye Luo, you’re being too much!” Ning Shu’s anger boiled over. “Just because you’re the most famous jewelry designer in River City doesn’t mean you can insult me like this.”

“If you have a problem, sue me,” Ye Luo shrugged again.

“You shameless woman! You have shameless friends too! Cheap!” Ning Shu grabbed Steven and stormed off.

“Ning Shu,” Sophia suddenly called out.

“What?” Ning Shu turned back, seething with anger. “Let me tell you, Steven is my man. He’s someone you can never have.”

“Heh,” Sophia raised an eyebrow. “I called you over to tell you that you look like a QR code. If I didn’t scan you, I wouldn’t know what you are.”

Ning Shu’s face twisted in anger. “What did you say?!”

“Sophia, let’s have tea another day,” Steven quickly intervened, his eyes glued to Sophia. He didn’t want to cause any more trouble and pulled Ning Shu away.

“Ning Shu, have some shame. Don’t go after a little pretty boy like Steven,” Ye Luo laughed happily and nudged Sophia’s arm. “We’re sisters, we can insult people together. Ning Shu is about to die of anger.”

“Let’s go. I’ve booked a restaurant,” Sophia said, rubbing her eyes because of the dust.

At that moment, in the VIP room upstairs, Robert stood with his hands behind his back. From his angle, it looked like Sophia was wiping away tears as she left, making him emit a cold aura that filled the entire room.

“Go investigate this Steven!” His voice was cold and merciless.

“Yes, Master Miller.”

Meanwhile, Sophia had no idea that Robert had followed her to the airport.

“Sophia, what happened? Why did you quit your job so suddenly?” Ye Luo asked in the private room of the restaurant, full of concern.

Sophia and Ye Luo talked about everything and trusted each other completely. She told Ye Luo what had happened to her.

“Is your mother even human? How could she treat you like that?” Ye Luo was furious after hearing her story. “And your sister is also a piece of work. She even wants both sisters to marry into the same family. How disgusting.”

“If she found it disgusting, she wouldn’t have used me to get close to Joseph,” Sophia said, offering Ye Luo some food.

“I’ve known your family for a long time, and everyone except you is a piece of work. I didn’t expect them to be so disgustingly sick,” Ye Luo said, too angry to eat.

“I’m not their biological daughter, so of course, they treat me differently,” Sophia said casually.

“Not biological?” Ye Luo was shocked. “Are you joking or serious?”

“I never joke,” Sophia replied seriously.

“Have you found out who your biological parents are?” Ye Luo asked quickly.

Sophia shook her head and expressed her concerns.

“When I found out that I wasn’t biological, I was determined to learn about my origins. I won’t be at peace until I find out in this lifetime.”

“In fact, there is another way to try and find your father and mother,” Ye Luo said after thinking for a moment.

Sophia asked eagerly, “What way?”
