My Son is Missing

"Uh..." Abigail’s face stiffened. "I didn’t say anything."

Ava didn’t give up. "Why did Dad leave a suicide note? Did he know he was going to die? Or was it about Sophia?"

Abigail's face turned cold, and she stared at Ava with a sinister look.

"Xiaojing, do you know something?"

"I don’t know anything," Ava said, looking confused.

"About your sister Sophia," Abigail said meaningfully.

Ava’s body stiffened. She remembered the last time she accidentally said the truth about Sophia not being their biological sister when she was angry.

Did Dad’s suicide note reveal something about Sophia’s identity?

"Mom, I really don’t know anything," she pretended to be clueless. Even if she did know, she wouldn’t dare admit it with her mother’s sinister stare.

Abigail stared at Ava for a while, then warned, "Even if you overhear something you shouldn’t know, keep your mouth shut. Otherwise, you’ll never get married and end up like Sophia, working like a slave for me."
