Bastard

Lin Wan instinctively placed her hands on her belly, took a deep breath, and then climbed back onto his body.

"Okay, but be gentle, Tingxiao. You know, I'm pregnant. The doctor said we shouldn't be too intense."

She still had a gentle smile on her face, and her body was pressed tightly against him. But the anger in Tingxiao's heart only grew stronger. He wanted to strangle the woman in front of him.

He knew his grandfather had arranged this marriage to secure control over the company.

But how dare the Lin family send Lin Wan, who was already heavily pregnant?! This was like throwing the Huo family's dignity to the ground and stomping on it!

His eyes darkened with rage. He grabbed Lin Wan’s clothes and tore them apart without hesitation. The wedding dress turned into scraps in an instant.

"Get out!" he roared.

Lin Wan felt humiliated, but she didn’t even dare to lift her head to look at his disgusted expression.

She knew he was doing this on purpose—to punish her.

But instead of showing weakness, she covered her mouth in fake shock.

"Honey, you're so rude. You scared me."

Huo Tingxiao didn't expect her to be this shameless. He grabbed a cup from the bedside table and threw it at her.

"Lin Wan, do you have no shame?!"

She had no time to dodge. The cup smashed against her forehead, and blood instantly trickled down. But she acted like she didn’t feel any pain and simply smiled at him.

"Tingxiao, you’re really not gentle with me. Do you treat Miss Song the same way?"

Blood dripped from her forehead, making her already pale face look even eerier.

And yet, she still dared to provoke him.

Song Yunyi…

She was the woman he loved. They had grown up together, sharing an unbreakable bond. But because of this marriage, they were forced apart.

Huo Tingxiao’s fury erupted like a storm. He grabbed whatever he could and threw it at Lin Wan.

"Shut up! You disgusting woman! How dare you compare yourself to Yunyi?! Get out!"

This time, Lin Wan was ready. She dodged most of the objects, though a medicine box still scratched her cheek. But instead of getting angry, she just smirked.

Her expression was completely different from the flirtatious one she had earlier.

"Tingxiao, I am your wife. Even if you can't forget about her, you are still my man now. Besides, now that you're crippled, do you really think Miss Song will still love you?"

She didn’t wait for his answer. She simply walked out, went to the living room, changed her clothes, and treated her wounds.

Ignoring the angry shouts coming from the bedroom, she lay down on the sofa and closed her eyes.

She was exhausted.

As she drifted off, memories flashed through her mind—faces from the past, people she once knew.

She sighed bitterly. Huo Tingxiao didn’t just forget about her.

He hated her.

Who would’ve thought that the little boy she used to protect would one day grow up to become the man who despised her the most?

But then, she remembered what Grandpa Huo had told her before she came here, and a small glimmer of hope returned.

No matter what, she had to make sure Huo Tingxiao recovered. Before that, she had to help him protect what was his.

She didn’t know when she fell asleep, but the next morning, a loud knocking on the door startled her awake.

Rubbing her eyes, she got up to open it.

As soon as she did, a tall figure rushed inside, nearly knocking her over.

"Big brother, what happened?! I heard the Lin family switched the bride! What’s going on?!"

Lin Wan recognized the man.

It was Huo Tingxiao’s half-brother, Huo Jie.

Rumor had it that he admired his big brother more than anyone. He always defended him.

But in reality, he was just a spoiled playboy who only knew how to eat, drink, and have fun.

So he was here to stand up for his brother?

She closed the door and calmly stood to the side.

When Huo Jie saw her face, he immediately understood everything.

His expression turned furious, and he glared at her.

"Lin Wan, you shameless woman! How dare you harm my brother?!"

Lin Wan just smiled, completely unfazed. She didn’t cry or beg for forgiveness like he expected.

"Harm? Little brother, what are you talking about?"

Huo Jie turned to his brother’s dark expression and became even angrier.

"You’re pregnant with another man’s child, and you still dared to marry into the Huo family?! You have no shame!"

Lin Wan didn’t argue. She simply said, "Oh," and walked over to pick up her torn wedding dress from the floor.

Huo Jie’s eyes widened when he saw the ruined dress.

"Elder brother! How could you?! How could you do this to Yunyi?! She’s so kind! She cried so much when she found out you got married. She said she didn’t blame you, but you—"

Huo Tingxiao remained silent, his face cold.

Seeing that, Huo Jie quickly changed the topic.

"Lin Wan! My big brother's legs are like this! He can't even do anything to you! You must be lying! You’re a bad woman!"

Lin Wan couldn’t help but laugh at his childish anger.

"Little brother, are you saying your elder brother is useless now? That he can’t do anything?"

Huo Jie’s face turned red with embarrassment.

"I didn’t say that! Don’t try to cause trouble between us! You’re a terrible woman, and I’m going to kick you out right now!"

He stomped over to the door and called for the servants.

"Throw Lin Wan out!"

The servants hesitated, exchanging nervous glances. None of them moved.

Huo Jie was furious.

"What’s wrong with you all?! Can’t I give orders in this house?!"

The head servant hesitated before stammering, "The old master ordered us to obey the young mistress and not disobey her."

Huo Jie exploded.

"Young mistress?! She’s fake! Fake!"

The servants still refused to move.

Frustrated, Huo Jie stormed over and shoved Lin Wan toward the door himself.

"You shameless woman! Get out of my house!"

His push was strong. Lin Wan couldn’t resist. As she neared the doorway, he pushed even harder. She lost her balance and fell outside.

Desperately, she grabbed the doorframe, stopping herself from hitting the ground. She slowly slid down, sitting there, still holding onto the frame.

The servants hesitated, wanting to help her.

But just then, a sharp voice rang out from inside the house.

"What’s going on so early in the morning?!"
