Intentionally Teasing Her

Lin Wan didn’t dare to take risks with her unborn child. Even though his expression was dark, she still lifted the blanket and was about to get out of bed.

Jin Bei instinctively reached out to help her, but when he saw the look in Huo Tingxiao’s eyes, he immediately pulled his hand back.

Lin Wan still felt discomfort in her lower abdomen, so getting up was very difficult. She was just about to ask Jin Bei for help when someone suddenly grabbed her and pushed her back down.

“I said, lie down properly!”

The man’s eyes were filled with anger, as if he wanted to swallow her alive.

Lin Wan was pinned to the bed and couldn’t move for a while. Maybe it was because she had been frightened by him before, or maybe it was because she was unhappy with how rough he was. Either way, her eyes quickly filled with tears.

Seeing that she looked like she was about to cry, Huo Tingxiao felt both angry and annoyed.

This woman doesn’t know what’s good for her!

He glanced at Jin Bei, who was still standing by the bed, and impatiently gestured for her to leave. But Jin Bei stubbornly stood her ground.

“But Madam, she—”

“Get out!”

His harsh voice made Jin Bei flinch. She quickly turned and ran out. The person on the bed trembled slightly from the sudden outburst.

Huo Tingxiao turned back to Lin Wan. His voice was still cold, but his actions were much gentler.

“Why are you shaking? I’m not angry at you.”

But Lin Wan couldn’t hear him at all. She just felt extremely wronged, and tears rolled down her cheeks, soaking a corner of the pillow.

Huo Tingxiao pulled her up and wiped her tears roughly, then spoke in a threatening tone.

“If you cry again, I’ll throw you off.”

Lin Wan’s eyes widened, and she struggled to get out of bed, but he grabbed her.

“Eat your meal properly. If you move again, your baby won’t be safe in your stomach.”

Hearing him use the baby to threaten her, Lin Wan got so angry that she forgot everything else. She grabbed his hand and bit down hard.

Huo Tingxiao felt the pain, but he didn’t let go.

She bit deep, and soon the taste of blood filled her mouth. Instead of stopping, she bit even harder.

Huo Tingxiao remained silent the whole time. Only when she finally let go did his face turn slightly red.

Unexpectedly, he smiled—a rare sight.

“Feeling better now?”

He didn’t even care about his bloody hand. He simply urged her to eat.

Lin Wan picked up her bowl, took a piece of pork rib, and stuffed it into her mouth before turning her head away.

“Not yet.”

Huo Tingxiao knew she held grudges, so he wasn’t surprised. He said expressionlessly, “After you finish eating, I’ll let you bite me again.”

Even though he sounded cold, Lin Wan somehow felt like he was spoiling her.

Lin Wan, are you really this stupid? He gave you a little sweetness, and you forgot about all the knives he handed you?

She mocked herself in her heart.

For the rest of the meal, Lin Wan didn’t look at him again. She didn’t care if he ate or if his hand hurt. She acted as if he were invisible.

Huo Tingxiao, however, didn’t get angry. The incident today made him realize that his legs were recovering better than he had expected, which put him in a good mood.

Recently, the Huo family had completely changed.

Everyone had shown their true colors.

Soon, it would be the annual meeting of the Huo Group. If he didn’t attend, more people would assume that his grandfather had abandoned him.

At that point, he might really become useless.

But how could he let them have their way?

He had already made a plan. He was just waiting patiently for the right day.

After finishing her meal, Lin Wan wanted to get up and walk around to help with digestion, but he immediately pulled her back.

“The doctor said you need to rest in bed.”

Lin Wan looked unwilling. "But I'm so full!"

Huo Tingxiao stretched out his arm and made her lie down on the bed, then glanced at the food left on her plate.

"You're full from this? Even a cat can eat more than you."

Lin Wan's face turned red. She didn't want to talk to him. She watched as he quickly picked up another bowl of rice, took a few bites, and set the bowl down.

"Are you full?" She was surprised that he ate even less than her.

The man held out his hand expressionlessly. "My hand hurts."

Lin Wan looked up and saw that the back of his hand was covered in blood. Even the chopsticks were stained.

She felt a little guilty but stubbornly turned her head away.

The man seemed to be teasing her. "Not going to help me clean it up?"

Lin Wan refused to answer, but when she saw him move as if he was about to call someone, she panicked.

"Jin—"

Lin Wan quickly grabbed him. "I'll help you clean it up, okay?!"

She was furious. This man was truly despicable.

If Jin Bei saw this, she would call the doctor again, and the entire Huo family would know that she had bitten him.

After all, Huo Tingxiao was the eldest young master of the Huo family.

Even though he had hurt her first, others wouldn't see it that way. If this got out, she wouldn’t be able to explain herself, even if she was in the right.

Huo Tingxiao looked at her angry and helpless expression, feeling very satisfied.

Afraid that she might try to escape, he directly opened the cabinet next to the bed. Inside, various medicines were neatly arranged.

Lin Wan was a little surprised but still obediently picked up a cotton swab and helped him clean up the blood.

Just as she was about to put on a band-aid, he suddenly grabbed her hand.

"Are you sure you don’t need a tetanus shot?"

Lin Wan’s anger rose instantly.

She crumpled the band-aid into a ball in front of him and shouted, "Huo Tingxiao, do you think I'm a dog?!"

The man chuckled softly, but this time, he didn’t tease her anymore. He reached around her, took out a new band-aid from the cabinet, and put it on himself.

But as he looked at her small face, red with anger, he suddenly realized, he hadn’t laughed so freely in a long time.

Lin Wan didn’t understand his thoughts at all.

She just felt that he was too infuriating, so she pulled the blanket over her head and ignored him.

The man continued eating his meal slowly, but he didn’t forget to pull the blanket away before she suffocated herself.

"Don't be mad. Don’t joke about the baby in your stomach. What if you suffocate the baby?"

He said it lightly, but he didn’t notice her face darkening.

"Huo Tingxiao, you don’t understand anything!"

She was both aggrieved and angry, completely losing control of her emotions.

Huo Tingxiao’s expression froze for a moment but quickly returned to normal.

He pinched her chin, not too hard, watching as her anger slowly faded, replaced by panic.

Just as she was about to struggle again, his voice remained calm.

"Miss Lin, what do you want to say? Huo is all ears."
