Chapter 051: Hello, Brother Madara

Chapter 051: Hello, Brother Madara

The Land of Fire, the most prosperous nation in the shinobi world.

The capital of the Land of Fire is located in the heart of the country, a grand city surrounded by canals, designed to be easily defensible and difficult to attack.

Wakama Senju was dispatched by his clan to the noble Fujiwara household in the Land of Fire.

The Fujiwara family held the position of cabinet minister, second only to the daimyo, wielding immense power in the court. Their family's status was solidified through marital ties with the daimyo, and after over a century of cultivation and the efforts of several generations, they had become regent ministers with substantial authority.

The Fujiwara residence was located a few miles from the royal city, situated on a small island by a wide river. Though modest in size, it was fully equipped, with high walls and sentries stationed everywhere.

The entire team consisted of clan members who had been "corrected" by Tsukuyo countless times, both men and women.

The youngest among them, Wakama Senju, was the leader.

Imagawa, the Assistant Minister of Justice, personally led the Senju clan's delegation across the bridge to the inner residence of the Fujiwara household to meet with the "Kampaku," Fujiwara Tomooki.

The surroundings were heavily guarded, with warriors standing in tight formation, creating an atmosphere of strict readiness.

Imagawa, bearing his official title, led the Senju clan members, who, though harboring doubts, dared not whisper among themselves in such a setting.

Before their arrival, Tsukuyo had briefed them on countless possible scenarios.

Now, facing this situation, they were somewhat mentally prepared.

After all, it was just a routine medical check-up. The level of precaution displayed by the Kampaku seemed a bit excessive.

Wakama Senju pondered whether the exaggerated number of guards was the host's way of intimidating the Senju clan.

His sister had told him that if they felt displeased for any reason on the way, they should directly offer the most expensive "health package" during the massage, using the "most cost-effective" rhetoric, paired with "suitable for someone as noble as you," to make the Fujiwara family cough up a large sum of money!

Given the current scene, Wakama was already calculating in his mind: ten sessions of thunder-fire moxibustion, ten head care sessions, ten neck lymphatic care sessions, ten armpit lymphatic care sessions, ten waist, leg, abdomen, and groin sessions... all ten times each!

Today's appointment was a "trial" experience.

Only after experiencing the Senju clan's unique medical treatments would they discuss the customization of subsequent packages.

They had brought enough medical materials and equipment for the moxibustion.

The moxa sticks were handmade by Tsukuyo, with mugwort as the main ingredient, mixed with other medicinal herbs, and crafted using a combination of medical and ninja techniques.

Tsukuyo had emphasized that it must have a sense of sophistication, making the client feel a significant improvement in their health while remaining clueless about what was actually happening.

Even if the Fujiwara family had the Uchiha clan's Sharingan observing from the side, it would be futile.

Because these treatments required not only specific massage techniques and accurate meridian targeting but also the use of two different specially crafted essential oils during the massage. After the massage, specially made moxa sticks would be burned on specific acupoints, followed by the application of a unique ointment.

After this series of steps, the therapeutic effects were evident.

But replicating it was nearly impossible.

To truly learn it, one would need guidance from the Senju clan, study medicine, memorize meridian charts, understand the appropriate pressure, and interpret the various meanings behind the appearance of the moxa sticks after burning.

Imagawa was a burly middle-aged man. As they walked, he noticed the Senju clan members maintaining a calm and composed demeanor, not glancing around. He couldn't help but whisper, "An important guest has arrived at the lord's residence today."

Wakama Senju smiled and nodded silently.

An important guest certainly not the Senju clan.

Wakama was quite savvy. With a smile, he pulled out a small bag of silver from his pocket and handed it to Imagawa. "Lord Imagawa, you've worked hard guiding us. A small token of appreciation, nothing much."

Seeing the Senju clan's smooth approach, Imagawa accepted the money without a change in expression and whispered, "It's the Uchiha clan."

Wakama still showed no significant reaction, merely nodding with a smile to acknowledge the information.

Imagawa said no more and led the group into the Fujiwara household's courtyard.

The reception room was a spacious dojo.

The floor was polished to a mirror-like sheen. The group was received by the Kampaku in the inner dojo.

After the usual formal greetings, the Senju clan members sat respectfully in the lower seats, facing the "important guests" Imagawa had mentioned the Uchiha clan.

The Senju clan members, like Wakama, remained calm and composed, maintaining a professional smile as they faced their longtime rivals, the Uchiha clan, as if they were strangers.

Wakama looked straight ahead at the group of black-robed, stern-faced shinobi sitting across from them.

Among the Uchiha clan, one person stood out.

He sat at the forefront of the Uchiha group, clearly the leader. He appeared slightly older than Wakama, with gloomy eyes, exuding an air of arrogance and regal composure a true dragon-and-phoenix aura.

His appearance, compared to the other Uchiha behind him, was strikingly outstanding, giving onlookers the illusion of a phoenix surrounded by a flock of chickens.

With just one glance, Wakama recognized him.

This person, with his dragon-and-phoenix aura, seemed out of place among the Uchiha clan and would fit more harmoniously with the Senju clan.

Because that face had been "corrected" by Tsukuyo countless times, just like Wakama's.

As their eyes met, Wakama curled his lips and silently mouthed, "Hello, Brother Madara..."

Sitting across from him, Madara Uchiha's gaze was inscrutable as he looked at Wakama.

Madara didn't know Wakama. The only Senju he was familiar with were Hashirama Senju and Tsukuyo Senju.

Wakama usually operated in the shadows and had never formally appeared before Madara.

But Madara could guess Wakama's identity from his facial features.

However, upon seeing the Senju clan members, Madara recalled the Kampaku's recent request and felt a headache coming on.

The current Kampaku, Fujiwara Tomooki, had been in poor health for a long time and had been recuperating.

Recently, the Senju clan had suddenly shifted to becoming medical ninja, gaining a reputation among the nobility.

Their remarkable therapeutic effects and word-of-mouth had led to new collaborations with various noble families.

Previously, the Senju clan had taken on assassination and protection missions.

Now, while maintaining their old business, they also sold medicine and medical care services, though the prices were outrageously high thousands of times more expensive than their protection services.

Though the Fujiwara family, as nobles of the Land of Fire, weren't short on money, no one's wealth was earned without effort.

If they could get the Senju clan to lower their prices, it would be a good outcome.

Fujiwara Tomooki had tasked the Uchiha clan with observing the Senju clan's every move, attempting to replicate their medical techniques.

As soon as Madara heard the mission involved the Senju clan, he immediately thought of the lunatic Tsukuyo.

Having spent a long time with Tsukuyo, Madara's feelings toward her were complex.

Anything related to Tsukuyo, Madara wanted no part of.

Fighting others might result in a bloody, life-or-death struggle.

Fighting Tsukuyo, she would turn excrement into gourmet food and serve it to you not fatal, but utterly disgusting.

But the commission Fujiwara Tomooki offered was too high, and the task was simply to observe and attempt to replicate the Senju clan's medical techniques. Even if they couldn't replicate them, as long as they provided a reasonable explanation, the mission would be considered complete, and the commission would still be paid. The Uchiha clan had no reason to turn down such a good deal.
