Chapter 055: You’re Just as Annoying as Your Sister

Chapter 055: You're Just as Annoying as Your Sister

Even though the other party was from the Uchiha clan, which had a long-standing feud with the Senju clan, if you set aside their family names, the two of them were nothing more than strangers just a couple of kids.

If Tsukuyo's vision of uniting the two clans in the future was to come true, it would be better to avoid creating new grudges.

The reason Uchiha Yuki appeared here tonight was likely due to Senju Wakama's impressive medical demonstration earlier that day at Fujiwara Tomooki is place.

Fujiwara Tomooki couldn't possibly have been a plant hired by the Senju clan. After taking Fujiwara Tomooki is pulse, Senju Wakama accurately described his symptoms, which not only convinced Fujiwara Tomooki but also left a deep impression on the Uchiha clansmen who were observing.

Seeing this, Uchiha Yuki thought of asking Senju Wakama to treat her mother.

But what Uchiha Yuki didn't know was that Senju Wakama had only been putting on a show earlier. If he were to actually treat someone, his limited medical skills would only suffice for minor ailments like colds. He had no idea how to handle serious illnesses.

However, Senju Wakama wasn't about to reveal the truth to Uchiha Yuki. That would ruin his reputation.

Senju Wakama spoke softly, "Fujiwara-sama's medical treatment will take a month to complete. Tanshu Street is quite far from the capital, so you'll have to wait."

Hearing that Senju Wakama didn't outright refuse but instead said "wait," Uchiha Yuki was both surprised and skeptical.

Senju Wakama himself might be a mediocre doctor, but his sister Tsukuyo was not.

If Senju Wakama couldn't treat an illness, Tsukuyo could.

But Senju Wakama didn't really want to help Uchiha Yuki not because she was an Uchiha, but because her mother was from Tanshu Street.

Ever since the Senju clan started accepting health-related commissions, Tsukuyo had frequently received requests from Tanshu Street.

Brothel madams would send over former courtesans who had "retired" due to serious illnesses for treatment.

Money wasn't an issue, as these courtesans often had wealthy patrons. This meant these women were exceptional in certain ways, and the madams were unwilling to lose their cash cows, so they were willing to pay for treatment.

Of course, for those who were terminally ill and whose treatment would be too expensive, the madams might choose to give up on them, but such cases were rare.

Most of the women sent to the Senju clan for treatment didn't appear sick on the surface. They were still in their prime, relatively young, and hadn't yet retired.

But what did it matter if they were saved?

They would have to continue working until they died.

They had to keep creating value, earning more money, until they were no longer useful.

Tsukuyo had once lamented to Senju Wakama that these women lived in such misery that it might be better for them to just die. But since the Senju clan had accepted payment to save them, they had to fulfill their obligations.

So, in Senju Wakama's eyes, death might be the best outcome for Uchiha Yuki's mother.

However, such blunt truths weren't something a businessman should say.

Besides, what if Tsukuyo wanted to take on this commission?

So Senju Wakama stalled, not outright refusing but telling Uchiha Yuki to wait.

His reasoning was sound. Senju Wakama had publicly discussed Fujiwara Tomooki is treatment plan, which involved ten sessions for each affected area, with each session spaced three days apart. The entire treatment would take a month.

In reality, the two-day gaps were meant to allow Tsukuyo to secretly check on Fujiwara Tomooki is condition and adjust the treatment plan or change medications as needed.

Senju Wakama planned to use these two-day buffers to consult Tsukuyo.

What Senju Wakama didn't realize was that his complex yet reasonable considerations would have a significant impact on Uchiha Yuki.

Senju Wakama continued, "Once Fujiwara-sama's commission is completed, you can come back. Also, regarding the fee, we'll need to assess your mother's condition in person to determine it. We can't guarantee that we can cure every illness, so you'll need to be prepared for that."

As for whether delaying for a month would worsen the mother's condition to the point of death, that wasn't something Senju Wakama needed to worry about.

"…Thank you."

Uchiha Yuki whispered her gratitude. She knew that if Senju Wakama wanted to kill her, he would have done so already. Even with her Sharingan activated, she couldn't pinpoint his exact location.

"I've troubled you… I'll take my leave now…" Uchiha Yuki murmured as she pressed herself against the wall, preparing to leave.

She was injured and still in Senju territory, so she wasn't out of danger yet.

As soon as she finished speaking, she heard Senju Wakama's sigh close by. "You know, if you go back like this, aren't you afraid they'll see you in such a sorry state?"

Hearing this, Uchiha Yuki instinctively looked down and realized that her collar and chest area had been completely torn during the earlier struggle.

But that wasn't a problem. She had brought spare clothes in anticipation of such a situation.

The real issue wasn't just the clothes.

Uchiha Yuki seemed to suddenly remember something and quickly covered her chest with her hands. She lowered her head and forced a bitter smile. "Please… don't tell anyone about this. I beg you…"

Senju Wakama, still hidden in the shadows, said, "Fine, since I'm such a nice guy, I'll help you out."

"Huh?" Uchiha Yuki let out a surprised sound.

Before she could react, a pair of slender hands appeared in front of her. She was about to raise her arms to defend herself.

"Don't move."

Senju Wakama's voice came from in front of her.

Uchiha Yuki watched in astonishment as her torn clothes began to "heal" at an unnatural speed.

Senju Wakama combined his "Dexterity Technique" with a needle used for suturing wounds, threading it with strands of hair to quickly stitch up the torn parts of Uchiha Yuki's clothes.

After all, he was playing the role of a doctor. Whether he used his tools or not was one thing, but he always carried them with him. They happened to come in handy at this moment.

The Uchiha clan's combat uniforms were dark in color, so using black hair to stitch the fabric made the repairs almost unnoticeable.

Senju Wakama treated the clothes like a wound, using as few stitches as possible, so the process was incredibly fast.

In just a few seconds, the clothes were repaired enough to cover Uchiha Yuki's exposed areas.

"Thank you…"

Uchiha Yuki looked at Senju Wakama, who had now stepped into the light, with a complicated expression, sincerely expressing her gratitude.

After helping her with the repairs, Senju Wakama retreated back into the shadows. He then suddenly spoke in a certain direction, "Brother Madara, you can rest assured. Your clansman here isn't betraying the Uchiha. She's just here seeking medical treatment. Speaking of which, your Uchiha clan is quite heartless. You take other people's children but don't bother to take care of them properly."

Hearing this, Uchiha Yuki froze.

From behind a pillar in the narrow corridor, a tall figure emerged.

A low, familiar voice followed. "You… really are just as annoying as Tsukuyo…"

Uchiha Yuki's breath hitched. She knelt down in fear, trembling as she spoke, "Lord Madara…"
