Chapter 31: Breaking through the city and taking out the Song family

The siege dragged on, locked in a stalemate.

Occasionally, some of the De Molinos family's armored guards managed to scale the walls of Purple River City using cloud ladders.

But the Ashfell family was not sitting idly by.

Though the Ashfell guards defending the city had been forcibly conscripted, they still held the advantage as defenders.

With the numbers between attackers and defenders relatively even, the defensive side naturally had the upper hand.

After an initial period of chaos, the Ashfell guards on the walls gradually regained their footing and even began stabilizing the situation.

Beyond Purple River City's walls, numerous factions of cultivator families watched from a distance, observing the battle unfold.

These factions refrained from aiding the De Molinos family in their siege. While they were prepared to submit to the De Molinos family if necessary, they were unwilling to waste their own forces in the process.
