Chapter 6: The Light-Seer Writings

The night was deep and the room in the ruins was illuminated only by dim moonlight. Kael had pulled an old book out of the ruins, which fell apart over time. The pages were yellowed, the writing difficult to decipher. But Elara knew it was the key to everything.

"That's it, Elara," Kael said as he spread the book on the table in front of him. "These writings speak of the old order of the seers of light, which has fallen into oblivion. If we understand what is written here, we can defeat the darkness."

Elara stepped closer and put her hands on the book. Her fingers slid over the mystical symbols that adorned the pages. A strange feeling flowed through her, as if the book wanted to make a connection to her interior. "I feel something... a pull, like it's calling me."

Kael nodded. "This is the power of the seers of light that moves in you. If you decrypt the code, everything will change. But be careful. There is no guarantee that you will only find good things."

"I understand," Elara said, to take a deep breath. She took the book and began to delve into the texts. The writing was hard to read, but her eyes began to recognize the patterns.

"The power of light is not only healing," she muttered as she translated a section. "It's a weapon. A weapon against the dark that can be destructive in the hands of a chosen one."

Kael took a step back. "That... that means you have to use your skills wisely, Elara. If you let yourself be seduced by the darkness, it could make you something you don't want to be."

"I won't let that happen," Elara said determinedly, looking further at the book. But when she turned the page, she came across a spot that made her freeze.

"What is it?" Kael asked worriedly when he saw the shock on her face

"It says... that a seer of light who knows his true destiny can change the fate of the world. But there is a price. A very high price."

"What price?" Kael stepped closer.

"It is said that the true seer of light can not only fight against the darkness. He can control them. But... to defeat the darkness, the seer of light must pay the ultimate price: his own soul."

Kael jumped back. "That can't be true. Elara, that... that means you..."

"It means that in order to save this world, I would have to give up my own existence," Elara said softly, her voice brittle. "I would cease to exist to maintain balance."

"It can't be that way," Kael said with a barely audible whisper. "You can't do that, Elara. I won't lose you."

But Elara shook her head. "That's my destiny. But there's more. There are hints to a place where I can find answers. A place where I can learn more about the true nature of darkness and the seers of light."

"Where?" Kael asked.

"In the east, deep in the heart of the citadel of Solara. It is said that the elders of the seers of light there keep the secret of the light."

Kael looked at her thoughtfully. "Then we have to go there. But be careful. We don't know what to expect there."

"I know, but I have to do it. We have to do it. This is the only way I can find out if there is another way to defeat the darkness without sacrifiing everything."

The decision was made. Elara knew that her journey would be dangerous, but she was ready to take on the challenge. She couldn't just leave the world to darkness.

"Are you reat?" Kael asked as he set off, the sword at his side and the book firmly in Elara's hands.

"Yes. Let's go," Elara replied, her gaze firm and determined.

But when they left the room, the sky seemed to darken. A sinister sign that the true battle had just begun.
