Chapter 144: Recovery Potions

A few days later, in the morning, at Pokémon Home.

Ryo had just returned from inspecting the Akatsuki members' renovation progress at the back mountain. As he walked down the slope, he nodded in satisfaction.

"Not bad. Having Kage-level fighters working on this has made things really efficient."

Over the past few days, the environment had undergone a massive transformation.

The once plain landscape was now divided into several distinct zones.

There were lakes, small hills, forests, and open plains.

Each area was home to Pokémon of different types and personalities, all playing and training together happily.

A faint smile appeared on Ryo's face—he was pleased with how much the area had changed.

"Still, it's a shame I can't create volcanic or glacial environments."

That was the one limitation he couldn't overcome yet.

After all, there were Fire-type and Ice-type Pokémon here, but he couldn't provide them with their ideal habitats.

Even if he could find ninja skilled in Fire and Ice Release, they would only be able to temporarily alter the terrain.

To permanently change the geography and climate, he would need something beyond his current abilities.

"Guess I'll have to put that plan on hold for now and revisit it later."

Taking in the scenery for a bit longer, Ryo soon arrived at the backyard of his wooden house.

There, Cynthia was leading the Pokémon through their training.

Over the past few days, their progress had been modest.

Aside from Diancie leveling up twice and Solgaleo gaining one level, the rest of the Pokémon had barely improved.

Seeing Ryo return, Cynthia turned toward him with curiosity.

"You're back. How's the construction going?"

With how loud the Akatsuki members had been working, it was impossible not to notice.

"Almost done. They should finish it today."

"That fast?"

Cynthia's eyes widened.

"It's only been a little over three days, and it's already finished?"

She had seen Ryo's blueprint, so she knew just how much work needed to be done.

If this were her world, and no Pokémon were helping, it would take at least two months to complete.

And that was with hundreds of workers, not just four people.

"But they're doing all this with just four people…? Are ninjas really this efficient?"

Ryo couldn't help but nod in agreement.

The Akatsuki's work speed was beyond impressive.

"Ryo! I'm here!"

A voice suddenly rang out from inside the house.

Ryo turned and called back, "Cynthia, I'll be inside for a bit."

With that, he stepped inside the wooden house.

During the past two days, he had rearranged the furniture and upgraded the interior—now that he had money, he figured he might as well make things more comfortable.

However, he didn't focus on that for now, and instead headed straight for the front room.

There, he was greeted by Jiraiya and Naruto.

Seeing them, Ryo smiled and said, "Jiraiya, Naruto—you're here. Is everything settled with the Third?"

Jiraiya let out a long sigh.

"More or less… but things aren't fully wrapped up yet. With both the old man and Danzo dead, there's still a huge mess to clean up."

Ryo simply nodded. He had no interest in Konoha's political struggles.

"So, what brings you two here today?"

Before Jiraiya could answer, Naruto spoke up first.

"I know, I know! Pervy Sage is taking me to find the next Hokage! We're heading out for a while, so we stopped by to buy some Pokémon food."

Jiraiya nodded in agreement.

Hearing that, Ryo instantly understood—they were going to find Tsunade.

It made sense.

With Hiruzen dead, the next major plot event was recruiting Tsunade as Hokage.

Before long, she'd return to Konoha.

Ryo was curious about Tsunade.

He had always wondered—was she really as exaggerated as the rumors claimed?

Shaking off the thought, he asked, "Alright, what do you want to buy?"

Jiraiya rubbed his chin.

"Give me two bags of Mid-grade Energy Cubes."

Ryo nodded and turned to Naruto.

Naruto glanced at the list of items before saying,

"I'll take the same—two bags of Mid-grade Energy Cubes."

But just as he finished speaking, something on the product list caught his eye.

"Ryo, what are these? I don't remember seeing them before."

Naruto pointed at various potions on the list, including healing potions and antidotes.

Ryo glanced at the items and explained,

"These are Pokémon recovery potions. They're used to heal injuries and cure status conditions."

He had recently added these to his inventory after checking the System Store.

At first, he hadn't bothered selling them, since no one needed them yet.

But now, with more trainers and battles happening, it was the right time to introduce them.

Jiraiya's eyes lit up with interest.

"So, you're saying these potions can instantly heal Pokémon injuries? How fast do they work? Do they have any side effects?"

Ryo replied,

"These potions are specifically made for Pokémon. They rapidly heal injuries as soon as they're consumed. No side effects."

Jiraiya's eyes widened in shock.

"Wait—are you serious? They work instantly? No side effects at all?"

Ryo nodded.

"That's right."

Jiraiya was stunned.

With potions this powerful, there was no reason to fear injuries in battle anymore!

But before he could start dreaming up battle strategies, Ryo interjected.

"Of course, while these potions work quickly, Pokémon enter a recovery phase after using them. They can't attack for a while, meaning they can't continue battling immediately."

Ryo understood why this limitation existed.

This wasn't a game or turn-based system.

If Pokémon could continuously heal mid-battle, fights would turn into whoever had the most potions wins.

That would completely break the balance.

Jiraiya let out a sigh of disappointment, but quickly accepted it.

It made sense—there had to be some kind of restriction.

"Alright, what's the difference between these potions? There are so many types."
