Elijah knew this was a mistake.
But when Dante's lips pressed against his, firm and demanding, logic shattered like glass.
He didn't push him away. Didn't fight.
Instead, he pulled him closer.
Dante groaned against his mouth, his hands gripping Elijah's waist, fingers digging into his hips like he owned him. Elijah hated how much he liked it.
The kiss turned desperate—needy. Their bodies pressed together, heat crackling between them like wildfire. Elijah's hands found their way to Dante's hair, tugging hard enough to earn a low growl from the mafia boss.
Dante retaliated by pinning him against the wall, his knee sliding between Elijah's legs, pressing just enough to make him gasp.
"You're playing a dangerous game, tesoro," Dante murmured against his lips.
Elijah smirked, breathless. "Then don't play."
Dante let out a dark chuckle. "Too late for that."
Before Elijah could respond, Dante's mouth was on his neck, teeth grazing, tongue teasing, leaving heat in its wake. Elijah clenched his jaw, refusing to let out the sound building in his throat.
But Dante knew.
He always knew.
"Don't hold back," he whispered, voice laced with amusement. "I want to hear you."
Elijah's nails raked down Dante's back in response, his breath hitching as the mafia boss pressed closer, as if trying to consume him whole.
A sharp knock at the door shattered the moment.
They both froze.
Elijah cursed under his breath, pushing Dante away with more force than necessary. Dante licked his lips, still smirking, completely unbothered by the interruption.
Elijah straightened his clothes, trying to ignore the way his body still burned. He shot Dante a glare before heading to the door, composing himself in record time.
When he opened it, his assistant stood there, eyes darting between Elijah and the man still leaning lazily against the wall.
"Sir," she said carefully, clearly sensing the tension. "There's… been an incident."
Elijah's stomach dropped.
He turned to Dante, whose expression had darkened instantly.
The moment was over.
But the fire between them?
That wasn't going anywhere.
It's still lingering somewhere in their hearts and they know it.
They know the tension between them.
Dante knows sooner or later he's going to fall deeply in love with Elijah and he has a feeling in his heart that Elijah Sinclair might be in love with him too but they're not reacting to their feelings for each other.
