The First Strike

The weight of Luca's words settled over the room like a death sentence.

Elijah paced the length of the safehouse, mind racing. If Lorenzo Moretti was truly back, it wasn't just a threat—it was a declaration of war.

Dante stood stiffly by the window, his expression unreadable. His father was supposed to be dead. The man had ruled with an iron grip, built an empire from blood and fear, and then vanished without a trace.

Now, he was back. And Dante knew one thing for sure.

Lorenzo Moretti didn't return unless he was coming to kill.

Nathan broke the silence. "If he's coming after Luca first, that means he's already making moves."

Elijah stopped pacing. "Then we don't wait for him to come to us. We strike first."

Luca let out a dry laugh. "And here I thought I was reckless."

Dante finally turned from the window. His voice was calm, but there was something deadly in his tone. "Where did you see him, Luca?"

Luca hesitated, as if debating whether to keep that information to himself. But one look at Dante's face made him think better of it.

"Sicily," he admitted. "He was meeting with the old families. Gaining allies. The ones who want you dead."

Dante smirked. "They've always wanted me dead."

Luca shook his head. "No, this is different. Lorenzo isn't just rebuilding his power—he's uniting the ones who were too afraid to make a move on you before. You and Sinclair have been untouchable for years." His brown eyes darkened. "But Lorenzo doesn't play by the same rules. He'll burn everything down to take back what he thinks is his."

Elijah's fingers curled into fists. "Then we make sure he never gets the chance."

Before anyone could respond, a phone buzzed.

Nathan glanced at his, then went pale. "We have a problem."

He turned the screen toward Elijah. A live security feed flickered on the display, showing one of their warehouses—under attack.

Gunfire. Explosions. Men in black tactical gear storming in.

Dante clenched his jaw. "It's already started."

Elijah grabbed his gun, his voice ice-cold. "Let's end it."
