Lacy's Boutique

Any of the portals I've ever crossed were see-through, making it easier to know where we were. Not white light. But crossing through that portal felt more... natural than I expected.

Once my eyes opened to see it's surroundings, I looked around.

An... alleyway? Why am I in an alleyway?

Rats were squeaking and scurrying around, cars beeping and honking, and a lot of walking with many people speaking outside the alleyway. I tilt my head to the left, setting my eyes on that very familiar pink folder. Crouching down to reach it, my foot slipped.

"Shit-" Instinctively, my arm stretched itself out to prevent falling on the hard concrete. Did it work? No. Face planted on top of the nasty floor, and arm skinned.

"I guess this is my lucky day.." I muttered under my breath. I lift myself from the floor, swiped off the dust, and bend down to grab the folder. I swiped away from the dust the folder caught when I fell, and opened it to look inside.

Silas Avery Sato

A photo of him was displayed on top to the left. His face was a perfect oval, with a prominent jawline that gave him a striking appearance. His round, small green eyes were framed by his thick, dark eyelashes and long, slightly upturned nose added a touch of calmness to his expression. I looked at the writing and began to read.

28 years old.

Mixed child, White father and Japanese mother.

2 siblings, one older sister and one younger brother.

A spy who's been trained since his late teens, married his ex-husband at the age of 21, and divorced him after 2 years. Has been living alone since.

"Welp, that's tragic." I joked. I look to see who I am supposed to make them fall in love with.

Person of interest:

Sebastian Martinez

"Well, this should be easy enough." I say, making sure I know the rest of Silas info. Before I can look into Sebastian's information, my stomach rumbled. Damn, I'll ignore for it for now-

Grumble, grumble.

...I guess we'll eat first... Damn stomach...

I bought a hot dog from a stand nearby with the money I found in my pocket, and ate it while walking on the busy streets. I had just about $98 left. As I took the time to observe where I was at exactly, I came across the empire state building, and only then did I figure out that I was in the city of New York. The city that never sleeps. Continuing to eat, my eyes shifted to see a boutique.

Lacy's Boutique.

For some reason, it sounded familiar. It felt familiar. I stood in front of it, wondering if I should go in or not. I was tempted to go in if I'm being honest. Filled with curiosity, I went in.

A little bell rang once I opened the door. I didn't expect to see such beautiful dresses, suits, pants, shirts, and so on.

In the air I'm breathing in, the wonderful scent of fresh fabric and a hint of jasmine had filled my lungs up.

Weird.

I got a sense of nostalgia for a moment there.

As I continued to stroll around the area, my fingers itched to touch the fabrics. It wanted to touch everything. When my hand glided against the silky clothes, I felt a shiver go up my spine. A feeling of excitement rushed inside me. I continue to wander around, passing by each and every single outfit, and admiring each and every one. It's weird I was acting like this. But who cares? Then, my eyes caught a glimpse of a pretty, pink dress. On a mannequin, it had a ruffled skirt and a sweetheart neckline with thin straps and a sheer overlay. It may be an ordinary dress, but in my eyes, that dress was glowing. Almost like it was meant for me.

Suddenly, I felt a tap on my shoulder. When my head turned itself to catch sight of who it was, my heart dropped.

"Hello! I'm Lucas, I'm here to assist you in any way I can, so if you need help with trying on outfits, or anything in general, let me know!" The green eyes that stared at me, the smile he gave to me, and a calm demeanor he gave off, there's no doubt that it was Silas. But his hair was different. It was blonde instead of black. Still though, it was Silas for sure.

But why is he going under the name of Lucas? I thought. Before I can think more, I heard a-

"Hey! Miss, are you okay?" He asked me with a concerned tone.

"O-oh! I-I'm sorry! Yeah, I'm okay!" I responded with an awkward smile. It could've been me, but I heard a chuckle from him. I chuckled awkwardly before looking at the dress again.

"You seemed to be interested in that dress, Miss." He remarked.

"Yes, I am. Isn't it gorgeous?" I asked Silas, still looking at the dress.

"Why yes. Are you planning on trying it on?" My eyes shifted themselves away from the dress to him.

"Am I allowed to?.." I said, almost in a whisper like tone. He chuckles slightly, walking towards the mannequin.

"Well, it's a boutique, might as well try it on before-" He takes the dress off from the dummy.

"Another customer tries it on and leaves with it." When he handed me the dress, I felt like a child receiving a present. I glanced at him, and looked back at the dress again. Rubbing my fingers against the material, I began to feel something that I couldn't explain in words. But it was like a warm sensation. Something I rarely felt.

"Miss?" I snapped back from my thoughts.

"O-oh, I'm sorry! I'm not usually this distracted. What was it that you said?" His face showed a confused expression, before repeating what he said.

"Are you going to go in the changing room now or-?"

"Right!" I clutched the dress to my chest, feeling my face heat up. Oh Cupid, I really should focus! I can't fail this mission!

My own body turned itself around, and my feet began to walk to the rooms. I closed the door behind me once I got in. Taking off my previous clothes, I was left only with my bra and underwear. As soon as my body slipped into that dress, I felt like a different whole person. It fit perfectly on me. My gaze turned to where the mirror was at. I began to look closely at myself, and smiled. I really felt like a princess somehow. For once, I felt like... myself...

I got out of the changing room, heading towards the register to pay for it. Arriving there, Silas was there. All it took was one look at me and the dress before making a smile.

"I reckon you liked it." He commented while I passed the dress to him.

"No, I didn't like it-" Silas shot up a confused look, opened his mouth to say something but I interrupted. "I loved it!" I giggled. That sounded so corny for some reason.

Hearing his chuckle, I can't help but feel warm inside, but not the butterflies type.

"I was about to say- Why even bother to buy it if you didn't like it?" Seeing him put the dress in a cute pink bag, it sparked something in me. For some reason, all I could hear was giggling, and laughing and someone calling out a name.

Whose name are they calling out? My ears began to ring, louder, and louder, and louder.

"Stop... Stop ringing... it hurts.." I thought. It wouldn't stop. It got louder instead. Throbs were pounding in my head. I couldn't get them to stop. I put my hand up on my forehead, massaging it a little bit to help ease the pain. It didn't help. Just as it was about to get worse, I heard Silas's voice.

"Hey miss, are you okay?" With a concerned voice he used, I simply smiled.

"I'm fine, just tired.." I responded , avoiding eye contact with him.

"..Well, the total amounts to fifty-five dollars. Will you be paying in cash or card?"

"Cash." I answered. I pulled out 3 twenty dollar bills, handing it to him. As he takes it, I patiently wait for my change while hearing the clicking in the register his fingers tapped. He gave me my change back, and I left.

"Have a good day miss!" He shouted. I glanced back and shouted-

"You too Lucas!" I shouted back.

"Wait Miss! You forgot-" and just as I was about to look at Silas or open the door to leave, a group of tall men barged in. They pushed me aside before I could even react.

"Which one of you is Silas?!" They yelled, scaring the customers and staff. Shit, were they coming after him? I looked at the direction where the register was at, where he was at. And there, on his face, did it show a grim expression. Earlier, he looked happy, but now he looks like a completely different person.

One of the guys raises the gun up, and shoots upwards. Twice. All of the customers and staff got down, cowering in fear. I didn't. Now, here's the thing. My body completely froze up. It couldn't cower down or anything. It just froze, in an instant.

That's when I knew... I'm completely fucked.
