Waking Up To a New Reality

In the bustling hall, a teacher prepared to announce something monumental.

This wasn't just another regular lesson on mathematical theory or historical timelines. This was something far more important.

The students, dressed in their school uniforms, sat on the edges of their seats, their gazes fixed intently on the teacher.

"Attention, students! We are only 30 days away from the academy entrance exam, and only 20 days until the class awakening begins!" The teacher's proclamation sparked genuine excitement, spreading throughout the hall.

"Ah, the class awakening. I hope I get a class related to magic," one student murmured.

"My hope is simple, but with my strength, I should get the fighter class," another said.

"If luck is on my side, I'll get the necromancer class," a third student commented.

The hall buzzed with lively chatter and speculation as the teacher continued the oracy. The air was thick with anticipation and resolve.

This was an important moment, one they had all been preparing for. The class awakening was like receiving a golden ticket, a game-changer that would define their futures.

In a world where monsters and ferocious creatures roamed freely, classes were vital.

However, amidst this fiery atmosphere, a blonde-haired teenager appeared utterly bewildered.

'What is all of this? Class awakening? Sorcerer? Fighter?' he thought, his mind in chaos.

He surveyed the grand hall around him, his gaze sweeping over the authoritative figure of the teacher on stage, and the white shirt and black trousers school uniform he somehow wore.

'Why am I wearing this school uniform?' he thought, his mind spinning.

Everything felt like an unreal dream. His last memory was of leaving campus, then falling asleep, and now he found himself in this strange situation.

"Is this fate, reincarnation, or perhaps time travel?" he muttered to himself, his fingers reflexively rubbing his chin.

But as he tried to piece together the mystery, a sharp pain suddenly struck his head. Instinctively, he reached for his temple, his face grimacing in agony.

A flood of memories overwhelmed him, making him dizzy. The pain intensified to unbearable levels, causing him to collapse to the floor.

Concerned voices filled the air as his friends rushed to help him. "Hey, are you okay?" one of them asked, his face showing genuine concern.

"We need to take him to the health room," another voice added, stepping forward to take control of the situation.

----

The soft afternoon sun streamed through the window, casting light on a teenager lying peacefully in the school's health room, an image of calm amid the day's unusual events.

Slowly, the teenager opened his eyes, his hand rising to shield his eyes from the afternoon sunlight streaming through the window. He blinked in confusion, trying to understand the situation.

The first thing that greeted him was the plain white ceiling. He pushed himself up to sit, holding his head, still aching from the previous incident.

Fortunately, the pain subsided quickly, allowing him to sink into deep thought. The reality of what had just happened began to settle in.

He pinched his cheek, hoping it was just a weird dream.

But his hope was in vain.

"Damn, this isn't a dream," he muttered quietly, clearly shaken by the situation.

The pain he had felt earlier was caused by the sudden influx of memories from this body. Through these memories, he confirmed the unimaginable—he had been transmigrated into the body of a teenager who shared the same name as his, but a different surname: Eryon Ashbourn, an 18-year-old orphan.

As Eryon delved deeper into the memories of his new body, he uncovered more about the extraordinary world he had been thrown into.

This was a world where monsters and savage beasts roamed freely, a constant menace to humanity. It all began thousands of years ago when a meteor crashed into the planet, unleashing a surge of mana that twisted nature itself. Animals were no longer just animals—they evolved into terrifying, powerful, and ruthless creatures.

As if that weren't enough, the emergence of dimensional rifts only worsened the nightmare, tearing open gateways to other worlds and unleashing horrors beyond imagination.

However, amid this overwhelming crisis, humanity found a sliver of hope. The surge of mana didn't just transform beasts—it also awakened something within humans, granting them newfound strength.

Along with this evolution came the chance to awaken a class—whether it be sorcerer, fighter, alchemist, or countless other extraordinary and unique paths.

Each class held its own uniqueness.

All of this was designed to equip humanity with the means to combat the monster threats jeopardizing their survival.

And individuals who awakened their classes were granted the title of awakener. There were even rankings for powerful awakeners, ranging from F to SSS.

For special classes like SSS, only a handful of people in the entire world achieved them, even counting them on one hand. They were god-like entities, untouchable, emerging only in extreme circumstances. They were the top assets of a nation, or even a continent.

However, for the S-class, there were several famous names in the country where Eryon lived, like Eira Lunaris with her unique class, Starlight Sage, Michael Boromir with his unique class, Angelic Invoker, and Darius Mayer with his unique class, Abyssal Knight.

----

Eryon's expression was full of seriousness as he pondered this reality.

"I have to accept this. I've been transported to this new world," he decided.

He realized that dwelling on the past or questioning his arrival here would be pointless. What mattered now was his next steps in this new world.

"Also, I don't know what class I'll awaken. I hope it's not too weak," he added, a slight worry creeping over him.

He was fully aware of the importance of power in this new world, and the uncertainty about his own abilities made him anxious.

Though ordinary humans managed to survive, the constant threat of monster attacks loomed terrifyingly. This harsh reality was a daunting prospect, but Eryon was determined to face it.

He began to contemplate his future. He needed to seize this opportunity and find his place in this world.

[System Activated]

Eryon was suddenly snapped out of his thoughts by the appearance of a holographic display before him and a mechanical voice that resonated in his mind.

"System?!" he muttered, his heart pounding in shock.

[Divine Stealing System has been activated]

Eryon's heart raced upon hearing the word "stealing." Did this system allow him to steal powers from others?

He took a moment to compose himself before speaking. "Alright, explain your purpose," he demanded.

[Divine Stealing System exists solely for you, Eryon Ashbourn]

[What you need to do is simple, and the system has no specific tasks for you. Just kill monsters or humans, and you can steal one of their powers]

Eryon nodded, absorbing the system's explanation. The term 'stealing' didn't mean he could instantly take someone's power. He would have to defeat them first to acquire their abilities.

However, this system had extraordinary functions. Even without any tasks, it was like discovering a treasure trove.

[You have received a starter gift, would you like to open it?]

Eryon was taken aback. A starter gift?!

"Open it!" he nodded immediately.

In the next moment, a series of holograms appeared before him.

[Congratulations, you have received an S-class weapon: Fragment of Gungnir (1/3)]

[Congratulations, you have received a mid-level cultivation talent]

[Congratulations, you have received a 20×20 meter spatial ring]

Eryon was stunned by the holograms that appeared before him.

Was this really just the starter gift? An S-class rare weapon, a cultivation talent, and even a spatial ring—it felt like hitting the jackpot!

[Would you like to extract them?]

"Extract everything!" Eryon nodded eagerly.

[Extraction process beginning]

In the next instant, Eryon felt something enter his mind. It wasn't painful; it was just something flowing through his thoughts.

The process took a minute to complete, and Eryon opened his eyes again. Honestly, he didn't feel any different.

He looked at his right hand, now holding a spear.

Not long after, a hologram appeared before him.

[Name: Fragment of the Gungnir]

[Class: S]

[Fragment Count: 1/3]

[Power: Energy Absorption]

[Description: One of the three fragments of the Gungnir spear. Collect all the fragments, and the true form of Gungnir will appear]

"So, this is Odin's spear, huh? Looks pretty tough even though it's just a fragment," Eryon couldn't help but smile as he looked at the long spear with blood-red markings etched into the shaft and a gleam at the tip.

Eryon stood up and tested the weapon.

He swung it freely. Its grip fit perfectly in his hand, and the spear was nearly as tall as him, around 6.2 feet.

He swung and thrust the spear into the air.

Stab!

Stab!

Stab!

Each thrust created a soft wind and a blue energy effect.

Bang!

He slammed the lower tip of the spear into the ground, sending a gust of wind swirling around him.

Then, he lifted the spear, and suddenly it transformed into a pen.

Eryon was amazed by the Fragment of the Gungnir. It had many unique abilities, even turning into a pen.

That also meant he could carry it anywhere. It was like a portable spear.

"This is great! I'll make this spear my main weapon," he said with a smile, slipping the pen into his pocket.

"Now, let's get out of here!"
