Chapter 117: A Complete Victory!

The aftermath of the magic crystal bomb explosion continued to reverberate around the pirate ships.

Standing on the deck of the three-masted warship, Sibelle, the Idar Court Mage, stared blankly at the scene before him.

He had long heard that Arnel and the others were working on some secret weapon for Earl Bruno of Idar.

However, he had never realized that this secret weapon had already been successfully developed—let alone that it possessed such immense power!

As a true mage, he could most intuitively sense the terrifying energy unleashed by the magic crystal bomb explosion.

When it detonated, he clearly perceived a storm of magical energy erupting around the pirate ship, only to vanish without a trace in the next instant.

Although fleeting, that magic storm was so intense that Sibelle felt the surrounding magical energy grow turbulent.

Had he been in the middle of casting a spell at that moment, the violent magical fluctuations would have disrupted his incantation instantly!

Watching the Idar navy gathered around the trebuchet, cheering and brimming with confidence, Sibelle suddenly felt a sense of disorientation.

Because he knew very well that these incredibly powerful magic crystal bombs had been developed by a group of mere apprentice mages!

And those handling this devastating weapon were nothing more than ordinary navy!

The emergence of such a weapon would completely revolutionize the nature of warfare Sibelle had no doubt about it.

Look at the battle before him:

When the pirates planned to charge forward with their blades and engage the Idar forces in close combat...

The Idar navy responded from a hundred meters away with magic crystal bombs!

To Sibelle, this was nothing short of a one-sided massacre at sea!

The pirates never even got the chance to see what the Idar soldiers looked like before the raining fire of magic crystal bombs shattered their morale.

Even though pirates were used to dancing on the edge of life and death, at least in the past, they had some idea of the dangers they faced.

But now…

Facing the Idar forces from a distance of a hundred meters, a sense of helplessness welled up in their hearts.

They didn't even understand what kind of weapon the Idar forces were using…

This was a battle completely controlled by Idar!

On one side: Idar warships capable of delivering devastating attacks from afar.

On the other: Coral Island Pirates, armed with melee weapons.

After just the first round of combat, the outcome of the battle was already decided.

The Idar Technology Tree, which Earl Bruno had been silently advancing, was finally showing its true power!

Yet…

One round of trebuchet bombardment was far from enough.

Under the command of Mal Cullen, a new batch of magic crystal bombs was swiftly transported onto the deck of the three-masted warship.

Pearson struggled to his feet on the deck.

Although the first bombardment had been devastating, many magic crystal bombs had actually detonated in the water.

As a result, while the pirate ship and its crew had suffered considerable damage, they were not completely wiped out.

"Quick! Get up! Prepare for battle!"

Suddenly, a familiar voice rang out behind Pearson.

He struggled to turn his head and saw his first mate standing up, trying to rally the pirates who had survived the explosion.

"You come here!" Pearson beckoned to the first mate, speaking weakly.

The first mate, seeing the weakened Pearson, rushed over and shouted, "Boss! I've gathered all the pirates who can still fight! We're ready for battle!"

Pearson looked at his first mate with a complicated expression this was the man he had personally chosen…

Then, without warning, Pearson extended his hand

And punched the first mate hard on the head.

What kind of pirate was this fool?

Did he not even understand the basic survival instincts of a pirate bullying the weak and fearing the strong?!

"You idiot!"

With all the strength he could muster, Piersen roared in fury:

"Fight? Fight what?! Did a donkey kick your head? Idar's weapons outclass ours by a thousandfold! If we charge at them now, we're just throwing our lives away! Retreat! Immediate retreat!

"Idar's warships are huge they must be slow to turn! As long as we escape their trebuchet range, we'll be safe!"

Hearing Pearson's words, the pirates visibly sighed in relief.

Fight what, exactly?!

They couldn't even see the enemy, let alone engage them. Charging in was pure suicide!

With no means to strike back, they had no choice but to take the blows.

Strategic withdrawal was the only option!

Now that Pearson had given the order, the pirates suddenly displayed unprecedented efficiency.

Turn the rudder! Full speed retreat!

But…

Just as they were about to escape, another round of magic crystal bombs rained down from the sky!

BOOM!

Accompanied by thunderous explosions, one of the rearmost pirate ships was struck directly by multiple magic crystal bombs.

After a series of violent detonations, the ship's hull split in half!

Dozens of unfortunate pirates fell into the sea, struggling helplessly against the crashing waves…

Pearson watched as the Idar forces casually sank an entire pirate ship his eyes twitched uncontrollably.

Just like that… sunk…

"Faster! Even faster! Get us out of this hellhole!" Pearson shouted in desperation.

However…

Even though the pirate ships were moving at full speed, the bombardment never ceased.

And

The three-masted Idar warship was gaining on them!

Although Pearson found it impossible to believe, the truth was right before his eyes…

The massive Idar warship was actually faster than their own pirate vessels!

The pirates, realizing they couldn't escape, turned to Pearson with pleading eyes, hoping their captain would find a way out.

With a heavy heart, Pearson gazed at his battle worn comrades men who had followed him through countless dangers.

A single tear fell from his eye…

Then, Pearson gritted his teeth, drew his sword, and raised it high above his head.

The gleaming blade, illuminated by the sun, reflected a cold, chilling light.

With a hoarse, determined voice, he shouted:

"Brothers! Life and death hang by a thread! The Idar forces may have mighty warships and weapons beyond our imagination but we, the pirates of Coral Island, are no cowards!

"We are not weaklings to be trampled underfoot!"

"Brothers turn the ship around! Do what we should have done from the start!"

Moments later

The two remaining, battered pirate ships turned around once more.

Under the astonished gazes of the Idar forces

A white flag was hoisted high on their masts, fluttering in the sea breeze.
