The Rise of the Moon's Chosen
Chapter 3: The Hunt for The Luna
Marcos sat in the dimly lit Alpha's Chamber, staring at the map laid out before him. His mind was a storm of thoughts.
The Lunar—the ancient force that his father died protecting—was still missing. And now, he knew for certain: Hadrian and the Dark Blood Pack were hunting for it.
The warning from the mysterious old wolf echoed in his head:
"The Dark Blood Pack is closer than you think."
His Beta, Darius, stepped forward. "What's the plan, Alpha?"
Marcos exhaled sharply. "We search the entire territory. If the Lunar is still here, we'll find it before they do."
Darius nodded. "I'll assemble the scouting teams."
Before Marcos could respond, Selene, his best tracker, entered the room.
Her face was pale. "Alpha… we have a problem."
Marcos tensed. "What is it?"
Selene swallowed hard. "There's been… an attack."
---
A Silent Threat
Marcos and his warriors rushed to the eastern border of the Blood Wolf Pack's land.
The sight made Marcos' stomach twist.
Three of their patrol wolves lay motionless on the ground, their bodies torn apart. Not by ordinary werewolves—this was something else.
Jax, his strongest warrior, clenched his fists. "Who did this?"
Selene knelt beside one of the bodies, running her fingers through the wounds. Her golden eyes darkened. "This isn't from normal claws. These wounds are deeper… sharper."
Darius sniffed the air. "There's something strange about the scent, too. It's mixed… not fully werewolf."
Marcos' jaw tightened. Hybrids.
The Dark Blood Pack had been experimenting for years, trying to create wolves that were stronger than normal werewolves. But no one had ever seen one before. Until now.
Jax growled. "If they're already attacking our borders, that means they know about the Lunar too."
Marcos clenched his fists. "Then we need to move. We find the Lunar before they do."
---
The First Clue
That night, Marcos led a team deep into the mountains, searching for any sign of the Lunar.
The Blood Wolf Pack's land was vast, filled with hidden caves and ancient ruins—places where the Lunar could be concealed.
After hours of searching, Selene suddenly stopped.
Her ears twitched. "Something's here."
The group went silent.
Marcos closed his eyes, focusing his senses. He could hear it too—a faint hum, like a heartbeat deep within the earth.
The Lunar.
They were close.
But before they could move forward, a growl echoed through the darkness.
They were not alone.
Red eyes flashed in the night.
A figure stepped out from the shadows—a monstrous werewolf, taller than any normal wolf, with unnatural black veins running through its body.
A Hybrid.
The creature grinned, its voice deep and distorted. "You're too late, Alpha."
Then it lunged.
---
Battle in the Ruins
The Hybrid was faster than anything Marcos had faced before. It moved like a shadow, its claws striking like lightning.
Marcos barely dodged the first attack, rolling to the side as the creature slashed through a tree, cutting it in half.
Jax charged at it with a roar, but the Hybrid caught him mid-air and threw him into a rock with terrifying force.
Selene fired an arrow, aiming for its heart. The Hybrid dodged—but just barely.
Marcos growled. "It's strong, but not invincible."
He tapped into his Lycán strength, his muscles tensing as he launched himself at the creature. Fangs and claws entangled in a brutal clash, the force of their blows shaking the ground beneath them.
Marcos fought with everything he had, but the Hybrid was relentless. It didn't fight like a normal werewolf—it fought like something unnatural, something made for killing.
Then, as Marcos locked eyes with the beast, realization hit him.
This wasn't just any Hybrid. This was a message.
Hadrian knew Marcos was looking for the Lunar.
And he had sent this creature to stop him.
Marcos growled. "I have no time for this right now ."
Rising every ounce of power within him, he evades the next strike and countered with a blow straight to the creature's chest. His claws glowed with an eerie silver light, and when they tore through the Hybrid's flesh, the beast let out a terrible howl.
It staggered back, its body burning from the inside out.
And then, with one final snarl, it collapsed. Dead.
Silence filled the air.
Jax groaned as he pulled himself up. "That thing… what the hell was it?"
Marcos wiped the blood from his claws. "Proof that Hadrian isn't just coming for the Lunar. He's coming for all of us."
Selene took a shaky breath. "We need to move. If that thing was here, more could be coming."
Marcos nodded. "Let's go. The Lunar is close. And we're running out of time."
As they disappeared into the darkness, the blood-red moon hung heavy in the sky.
The real war was about to begin.
