chapter 11

"Yona, I will send you the list of the remaining food items, and you try to purchase them while I am still here," I said as I walked out of my car.

"Alright, send me the list of more items. And if you run short on money, ask your brother. Jason told me to ask him for funds if needed, and I think you should also contact him for this," she advised.

"Don't worry, Evie. He gave me a black card last night after I informed him that I was in charge of gathering food supplies," she added.

"That's good to hear. Since the issue of money is out of concern, get your hands on as many supplies as possible, but keep a low profile," I warned her.

"Alright, I will keep that in mind," she assured me as we ended the call.

I opened my notepad, looked at the list I had prepared for the remaining food supplies, and sent it to Yona.

The list was long including all staple food with other necessities required for food making, excluding fresh fruit, vegetable and meats and daily and fishes.

For these things we need seperate storage and I have other things in mind. I hit the send button and few minutes later I got her done message.

After putting my phone aside, I opened my laptop. The blueprint of our base was on the screen. I had divided the whole area into five parts. On the four corners, there would be different facilities, while in the middle, we would build our main base.

In our base, I want a little infirmary, so if anybody gets injured, there will be a built-in hospital. On the second corner, I want an underground cold storage for all food supplies and a warehouse on top of it for other necessary items like vehicles and equipment. On the third corner, I want to establish a secure base for all weaponry and armory, which Mr. Wilson will arrange for us. And on the fourth corner, I want to build a massive water storage system that will supply water to the entire building.

This storage should be connected to the glacier at the back. When the satellite crashes, around one-third of the snow will melt due to the intense heat. Even in Antarctica, the air will be much warmer than it is today.

So, I want to construct a canal from here directly to the glacier, which is about 20 kilometers away. When the snow melts, it will flow through the canal, providing us with a regular water supply. Fortunately, during the eclipse, the ice in its frozen state was not affected by viruses. To ensure the purity of the water, I will also build a filtration plant in the water tank, so any unnecessary elements will be removed.

In the middle, I will construct the main building where everyone will stay, but I don't want to make it a single community house. The three floors above ground will have two apartments each, and in each apartment, families can live together. Even in a disastrous situation, privacy is important, and it might be uncomfortable for strangers to adjust to communal living.

So, it's better to design it as a three-bedroom apartment with a kitchen and a small living room. Above ground, there will be six apartments, while below ground, one floor will be dedicated to small emergency quarters. The remaining two underground floors will be used for essential supplies and other necessary storage.

I know my design might not be perfect, but this is what we need. I also want to build a small structure with single-room apartments so that, if we ever have to take in refugees, they will have a place to stay. It's not a necessity, but it's something I have the power to build right now. I don't want to live with the guilt of knowing that I had the ability to create shelter for those in need but chose not to. So, I plan to construct a small building with 5-10 rooms, just in case we have to welcome any unexpected guests.

All these structures will be secured with a double wall at the front and on one side of the perimeter, forming a C-shape. On the open side, we will build a port for boats. At the back, there is only a massive glacier, which doesn't seem like a threat for now. However, if we have enough time, I will still try to reinforce that side for additional defense.

Tomorrow, I will give this blueprint to George and the other head staff and have them start working on the wall and begin digging for the main building. I hope that, with such manpower, I will be able to complete all these structures within a two-month span.
