Moriarty/ Sherlock: Blood and Shadows

London, 1888 – A City on Edge

Panic had begun to take root in London's heart. The newspapers screamed headlines of terror—another noble slain, another body found mutilated in the shadows. The upper class whispered of Moriarty's growing influence, but among the common folk, another name had begun to spread in fearful murmurs.

Jack the Ripper.

It was not a name written in ink, but in blood.

And William Moriarty did not like sharing his city.

A Coded Message – 221B Baker Street

The morning was quiet, the type of silence that comes before a storm. Sherlock Holmes sat by the window, fingers lightly drumming against the armrest of his chair. He had not slept.

The body found last night had been different. The victim—Sir Lionel Harrington—was not just another corrupt noble. He had been one of the secret financiers behind London's hidden underworld.

And yet, someone had killed him like an animal, tearing through flesh with monstrous precision.

Watson entered, holding the morning's newspaper. "It's all they're talking about. Some are even saying it's a creature doing this."

Sherlock did not laugh.

Instead, he reached for the envelope on the table. It had arrived earlier that morning. No return address. No sender's name.

But inside—

A single playing card.

The Joker.

And scrawled in blood-red ink beneath it:

"Your move, detective."

Watson frowned. "Moriarty?"

Sherlock turned the card over. No fingerprints. No imperfections.

"No," he said, voice grim. "This is someone else."

For the first time in a long while, Sherlock Holmes felt a thrill of uncertainty.

Someone was playing a new game.

And he did not yet know the rules.

Moriarty's Investigation – A Warning in Blood

Across the city, deep within the hidden chambers of London's underworld, William Moriarty sat in front of a bound man. The dim light flickered over the captive's bruised face. His name was Edgar Malone—a known informant who traded secrets like currency.

William smiled, though there was no warmth in it.

"Tell me what you saw."

Malone swallowed hard. "I—I was in Whitechapel, near Miller's Court. There was a woman screaming, but by the time I got there—"

He hesitated.

Louis Moriarty, standing in the shadows, stepped forward. His voice was quiet. "Continue."

Malone shuddered. "The man was feeding on her."

Silence filled the room.

Albert Moriarty's grip on his glass tightened slightly. "Feeding?"

Malone's voice trembled. "Like a wolf. Tore her throat open. Drank—" His words caught in his throat. "Drank her blood."

Moriarty leaned forward, resting his chin on interlaced fingers. His golden eyes gleamed with something dangerous.

"You expect me to believe that?"

Malone clenched his teeth. "I know what I saw."

William Moriarty did not believe in monsters.

But he did believe in threats.

And if something was hunting in his city, then it was time to set a trap.

A slow smile crossed his lips.

"Then let us meet this beast face to face."

Whitechapel – The Shadows Watch

Jack the Ripper stood atop a rooftop, watching the flickering gaslights below. The city was reacting just as he expected.

Moriarty was searching.

Sherlock was puzzled.

And the people? The people were afraid.

Good.

Fear was the most intoxicating of all emotions.

But tonight was different.

Jack's sharp senses caught movement below. A group of men—Moriarty's men—positioned themselves along the alleyways, acting as bait.

They thought they were hunting him.

How amusing.

Jack's grin widened.

No.

Tonight, he would hunt them...
