Chapter 45: Making a Move

The time for waiting had passed. The war for Wano had begun.

The sea was calm, yet beneath its stillness, tension crackled like an oncoming storm.

Standing at the helm of my ship, I watched as the fleet of Whitebeard Pirates prepared for departure. The Moby Dick loomed ahead, with several other vessels ready to move alongside it.

Marco hovered above, his fiery wings illuminating the night sky. Jozu and the other commanders made their final preparations, ensuring that every detail of our plan was in place.

I tightened my grip on the railing. This was it.

With a single deep breath, I steadied my mind. Wano was waiting.

And so, we set sail.

The Journey Begins

Our fleet cut through the ocean with purpose, each ship moving in formation.

Marco flew ahead as our scout, ensuring no unexpected obstacles lay in our path. We had to stay undetected for as long as possible.

The Whitebeard Pirates were experienced, seasoned by war, and moved like a single unit. There was no hesitation, no uncertainty—only determination.

For most of these men, this was not their battle.

And yet, they fought because they believed in justice.

They fought because they believed in me.

The Marines Take Notice

Meanwhile, far from our path, within Marine Headquarters, a group of high-ranking officers sat in a dimly lit war room.

A Marine scout rushed in, out of breath, clutching a sealed report.

"Sir! We have detected movement from the Whitebeard Pirates!"

The officers exchanged glances.

"Movement?" One of them narrowed his eyes. "Where are they heading?"

The scout hesitated. "That… we don't know yet."

A senior officer slammed his fist on the table. "We need details! How many ships? Who's leading them?"

The scout gulped. "The Moby Dick is leading, and multiple commanders have been spotted… but there's no sign of Whitebeard himself."

Silence fell over the room.

The absence of Whitebeard himself made the situation more confusing.

"What the hell are they up to?" One officer muttered. "They've never moved like this without Whitebeard leading them."

"If it were a major assault, Whitebeard would be at the front. But if he isn't there…" another officer leaned forward, deep in thought.

The Fleet Admiral needed to know about this.

The Marines had always kept a close eye on Whitebeard, but this movement was unusual.

They had no concrete evidence of where the fleet was heading.

Yet, deep down, they knew something big was happening.

Back on the Fleet – The Calm Before the Storm

The night sky stretched endlessly above us, stars twinkling like distant flames.

Despite the looming battle, there was a strange sense of peace on the ship.

Jozu, ever the warrior, leaned against the mast, sharpening his blades.

Marco flew overhead, keeping watch for any signs of pursuit.

The rest of the crew sat together, preparing themselves for what was to come.

As for me, I stood alone, staring into the horizon.

Kaido was waiting.

The final battle was coming.

I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of my sword at my side.

For the first time in years, I was not alone in this fight.

The Whitebeard Pirates were moving.

And the world was watching.
