Kaido's monstrous frame loomed over the battlefield, his golden eyes burning with fury and amusement. He cracked his knuckles, the sound echoing like thunder as he surveyed the battlefield. His gaze passed over the fallen commanders—King, Queen, and Jack—lying unconscious at my feet. His expression darkened.
"Pathetic," Kaido muttered, his deep voice filled with disdain. "I expected more from them."
His attention shifted, scanning the battlefield. Marco, Jozu, and the Whitebeard Pirates stood beside me, their presence undeniable. Kaido's gaze lingered on me for a long moment, his brows furrowing slightly. Recognition dawned in his eyes.
"I see it now…" he muttered. "You look just like him. There's no doubt about it—you are Oden's brat."
I stood firm, my grip tightening around my Black Blade. "I am Momonosuke, son of Kozuki Oden," I declared, my voice unwavering. "And I am here to finish what he started."
Kaido let out a booming laugh, shaking the battlefield. "Gurararara! Finish what he started? You think you stand a chance where your father failed?! He was strong, but in the end, he died like a fool!"
I felt my Conqueror's Haki surge, a pulse of raw energy erupting from my body, causing the ground beneath me to crack. I would not allow him to disgrace my father's name.
Kaido grinned, clearly entertained. "Fine then, brat. Let's see if you can survive this!"
Kaido's First Attack – Bolo Breath
Without warning, Kaido took a deep breath, his massive chest expanding.
"BOLO BREATH!"
A colossal beam of blazing fire erupted from his mouth, surging toward me like a tidal wave of destruction. The heat alone was unbearable, the force behind it enough to obliterate anything in its path.
The Whitebeard Pirates braced themselves, but I didn't move.
Instead, I raised my Black Blade and took a deep breath. My Haki surged, coating my sword in a dense layer of Advanced Armament and Supreme Conqueror's Haki.
With one precise slash, I swung my sword—cutting through Kaido's Bolo Breath!
The battlefield went silent as the flames split apart, the remnants of the attack dispersing harmlessly into the sky.
Kaido's eyes widened in surprise. "Hoh…? You cut through my Bolo Breath? Just like Oden…"
A murmur passed through the Whitebeard Pirates. They had expected me to dodge, but not to cut straight through the attack.
I pointed my sword at Kaido. "This is my fight. Stay out of it."
Marco, Jozu, and the others exchanged glances, but none of them objected.
This was my battle.
Kaido grinned. "Gurarara… Fine then, brat. Let's see what you've got!"
He stepped forward, his massive club resting on his shoulder. The ground beneath him cracked under his sheer presence, his Haki flooding the battlefield like a tsunami.
The battle had begun.
Momonosuke vs. Kaido – Clash of Kings
Kaido swung his massive club with monstrous speed, aiming to crush me in a single blow. I anticipated the attack, my Supreme Observation Haki guiding my movements.
I vanished from sight, appearing behind him in an instant.
My blade flashed, coated in Conqueror's Haki, and I slashed toward his back.
Kaido barely managed to react, twisting his body just in time to block with his club. The impact of our clash sent shockwaves across the battlefield, splitting the ground beneath us.
We exchanged blows, each strike heavier than the last.
Kaido's monstrous strength met my swordsmanship.
Our weapons clashed again and again, splitting the sky above us.
Kaido smirked, licking his lips. "Not bad, brat! But let's see if you can handle THIS!"
With a roar, he transformed into his full dragon form, his massive body coiling above me like a storm.
I tightened my grip on my sword.
"Come then, Kaido. Let's finish this!"
