It's Saturday.
Rin woke up late.
Not that it mattered. It wasn't like she had any plans.
She lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, listening to the faint sounds of life outside her window. Cars passing, distant voices, the occasional bark of a dog. It was peaceful.
She sat up, rubbing her eyes. Now what?
Usually, weekends were just two long, empty days where nothing happened. It wasn't like she had anyone to hang out with.
…
She paused.
For some reason, that thought didn't sit right with her.
She frowned, shaking it off. No use thinking about that.
She grabbed a book and flopped onto her bed.
Reading. That was a safe distraction.

Hours passed.
Or maybe just minutes. She wasn't sure.
She had read the same page many times.
Her mind kept wandering.
To school.
To lunch breaks.
To the rooftop.

She shut the book with a thud.
Nope.
She wasn't going to sit here thinking about that.
She needed to do something.

By the time afternoon rolled around, Rin found herself outside.
She didn't know why.
It just felt... suffocating inside.
The streets were lively, filled with people enjoying their weekend. Families, friends, couples.
Rin walked past them all, hands in her pockets, blending into the background.
She wandered aimlessly, letting her feet take her wherever. She stopped by a bookstore, browsed a bit, but nothing caught her interest.
She got a snack from a convenience store and sat on a bench, watching the world move around her.
It was peaceful.
And yet…
It felt weird.
She tapped her fingers against her cup.
Normally, she'd love the quiet. The solitude.

But today, it felt empty.
Like something was missing.
Or maybe—

Someone.
She sighed, shaking her head. What's wrong with me today?
She stood up, throwing her trash away. Time to go home.
Maybe tomorrow would be different.
