Chapter 13: The Counterattack

Victoria Strikes Back

Victoria paced her study, her fingers tightening around her phone. Richard's betrayal was bad enough, but Hope having evidence against her? Unacceptable.

She dialed a number. "We have a problem."

A cold voice replied, "Say the word."

Victoria's lips curled. "Find Hope. And this time, don't fail."

She hung up, her eyes flashing with fury. If Hope thought she could expose her, she had no idea who she was dealing with.

Victoria never lost.

And she wouldn't start now.

Hope and Liam Race Against Time

Hope clutched the USB drive as she and Liam rushed into an underground internet café.

"We need to upload this now," Liam said, booting up the computer.

Hope nodded, her heart pounding. If they got this information out to the world, Victoria's reign would be over.

But just as Liam plugged in the drive,

BOOM!

The café door burst open, and masked men stormed inside.

Liam grabbed Hope's wrist. "Run!"

They dodged tables, leaped over chairs, racing for the back exit.

One of the men lunged, grabbing Hope's arm.

She twisted free, adrenaline surging through her veins.

Liam knocked over a shelf, blocking the attackers for just a moment.

They bolted outside, Liam pulling Hope toward a waiting car.

"Get in!" he yelled.

Hope barely managed to slam the door shut before Liam hit the gas, tires screeching as they sped away.

Hope gripped the USB. "We need another way to upload this."

Liam's jaw clenched. "Then we go straight to the top."

Hope's eyes widened. "You mean?"

Liam nodded. "We take this to the press. Tonight."

The Final Confrontation

Richard stood in the grand hall of the mansion, waiting.

Victoria strode in, her heels clicking against the marble floor.

"I see you're still here," she said smoothly. "Brave."

Richard met her gaze. "It's over, Victoria."

She laughed, dark and cold. "You poor fool."

A moment later, the front doors burst open.

Hope and Liam stood there. With the press.

Cameras flashed, reporters shouted, and Victoria's mask finally cracked.

Hope stepped forward. "We know everything."

Victoria's hands trembled, but she forced a smile. "You have nothing."

Liam held up a phone, showing a live broadcast of the files being uploaded. "It's already out there."

The room fell silent.

Victoria's empire was falling apart.

And for the first time in her life, she had lost.

Richard turned to Hope. "You did it."

Hope exhaled, finally free.

But deep down, she knew Victoria wasn't the type to go down quietly.

And this war wasn't over yet.
