Chapter 16: Into the den

"Holtrin, shouldn't you just explain to her what happened and then apologize? I am tired of hiding this from her."

"Stop Nagjari! Don't you know that finding him is the only source of inspiration to her to fight her failures and weaknesses." She froze in realization and thought further what might happen when she finds out that Dong Ji is dead.

"What have we done?" she let her tears of remorse flow. "We have destroyed our own daughter's future."

...…..

The next day witnessed Muye early on the rock meditating. As the sun rose alongside beautiful bright colors, a new beginning rose for Muye. She had ended her episode of grief and was back to the aloof boyish character of no emotions but ambitions and determination.

Kaisen woke up three hours in the morning as she was used to that type of routine where she is taken care of nothing like struggle ambitions existed in her peripheral. Looking out her window, she was taken aback by the scene of a fellow girl, Muye seated in a lotus position on the rock meditating. Walking to the living room of the inn, she asked Millan when Muye had woken up.

Understanding her concern, he chuckled heartily earning a glare from her.

"She woke up two hours before sunrise." Millan spoke tersely earning a surprised gasp from her.

"That early?" she asked without knowing.

Millan informed her that it was Muye's daily routine so as to gain full control of her powers as well as to cultivate it further.

Kaisen's mind immediately remembered someone who did the same when she was still young. She immediately shrugged it off and cast away the sadness that had crept into her system. To gain distraction, she surveyed the inn's interior carefully and noticed how it had a touch of ancient culture. The lanterns where traditionally made alongside the censer that was black smithed into a mighty flying horse with spread wings that emitted calming fragrances. Millan in contrast to Muye, he used incense-fragrance to cultivate his powers.

Her heart felt the calmness and sense of home. Caressing the intricates on the walls, she suddenly had a flash of memories. A particular woman with soft hands was guiding her (little Kaisen) petite fingers on how to caress intricates so as to feel the message behind them.

"Kaisen, let's go meet her. She seems to be done with her meditation." Millan's gentle deep voice drove her out of her trance. They walked briskly to the rock and sat on the already made table. Huchin had prepared it beforehand. Knowing that he could not stop them, he decided to help them so as to prevent Muye from being harmed.

Kaisen glanced at Muye but she felt weird as she felt familiar with her than usual but she shrugged it off and they soon finished their breakfast. Laying out the plan, the three had to go out but Kaisen was only going to let them in nothing else.

...…..

"They are walking into the den." Huchin sighed perplexedly as he sat on the rock watching the sun set. "Master, I tried." He spoke absently into space.
