Unspoken Truths and Dangerous Encounters

Chapter Eighteen – Unspoken Truths and Dangerous Encounters

Zara's POV

The room felt suffocating.

I sat across from Hunter, staring at him, waiting.

Waiting for an explanation.

Waiting for a truth I knew he wouldn't give me.

The weight of everything between us—**his unexplained actions, his possessiveness, his refusal to reject me, yet refusal to claim me—**was suffocating.

I sat there thinking if I should say something to break the silence, and after a lot of effort I spoke.

"If you can't even look at me like a mate," I murmured, my voice edged with frustration, "then maybe you should just reject me."

A deep growl rumbled in his chest.

Before I could react, he moved.

His grip closed around my wrist, pulling me forward, crashing me into his chest.

I gasped, hands pressing against the firm muscles of his chest, my pulse hammering.

His green eyes burned into mine, his face just inches away.
