A Good Idea

'Congratulations, you have gained twelve charm points.'

Twelve!

It became apparent that I gained charm points from charming people, which has been climbing since I came back. I raised an eyebrow at Nexus and smirked. I get it now. I charmed Orion and Devon first, and I didn't need to charm Nexus—at least, I don't think I do.

The guards disappeared when they reached the end of the room and turned down the right.

Oh my god. It's bigger than what we can see.

My eyes widened as the guards came back with a group of men, and they were all laughing at the guards telling them about Ferona's karma.

"I'll believe it when I see it," said a lean man dressed in light blue jeans and a black and white checkered shirt.

His eyes narrowed on me, and a shot of malice appeared. He sneered at me and covered it up with a guarded look.

Oh, look, another unbroken spirit.

'I want to zap him with something,' Ad grumbled, and I laughed out loud, surprising Aaron's brother.

"Believe it, brother. She's blackout from the new boss' kick into the stairs," Aaron snickered, pointing behind me.

I moved over and used my elbow to lean on Nexus' shoulder.

"Tired," Nexus mumbled, his body leaning closer to me and lowering his height on one side for me to feel comfortable.

"Very," I sighed, straightening so quickly it surprised the group in front of me and Sophia, who was chatting with them, "Grab your important belongings. We are leaving this creepy fucking bucker."

I will use it when the apocalypse comes, and it can be the last resort if I need to move between the houses I own. If anything, it'll serve better as a giant storage space. It doesn't feel right to allow anyone to live here again.

I sighed heavily as I looked up the never-ending concrete stairs, my hatred for Ferona growing exponentially. When we reached the top step, Orion and Devon stood at the other end of the room, talking in hushed voices and typing on their phones.

I tilted my head as I walked over to them, gesturing for Aaron to carry on to the police and lawyers.

"Are you just going to leave her down there?" his brother asked me with a raised eyebrow.

Sparkling brown eyes, fifty per cent of the guard dropped as he ran a hand through his hair and stared off into the distance with a look of sinister glee.

"What a great idea," I praised, forcing him to drop the other fifty per cent for a dumbstruck look.

Ad, can you allow me access to everything she owns now?

'Yes.'

Shut the door and turn everything off. I never told her I wouldn't do anything to her.

I placed my hand on the pad, and the cop strode up, startled, and grabbed my hand. I snapped my head to him and narrowed my eyes, but Orion and Devon's hand grabbed it and yanked him back to his startled partner.

"She's still knocked out down there!" They cried, gesturing to the open square in the wall.

"No, she isn't. I can hear those stupid heels clicking," I snapped, jerking my thumb to the stairs with a sneer.

Aaron smirked, but his brother's face fell.

"Hurry up, Ferona," I barked down the stairs, and the heels clicked at double the speed.

I snickered and moved from the door to stand by Nexus and Devon. The snickers grew when Aaron and his brother heard the heels slow down for a moment before they started again. When her fiery red hair appeared at the top of the stairs, I told Ad to shut the door. The group of men burst into barks of laughter as the lights went out, and she started screaming for her life.

The door hissed and popped closed, and I stared at the two officers with a raised eyebrow and walked off with Devon and Nexus. Orion patted one of the officers on the shoulder and improved his powers as he told them to ignore it and follow him.

"Given how she panicked, there probably isn't a secret exit, right?" Aaron's brother asked with a frown.

"No, there isn't," I frowned back, and he sighed.

"We spent a lot of time trying to find one."

"Ah, that must have been frustrating. I had to get out of a safe room, and I was fortunate not to be stuck in a bunker like that," I sighed, shaking my head as I thought about it.

"How did you get out?" he asked, looking me up and down with judging eyes.

This cheeky fucker.

'I like this one,' Ad snickered.

Of course, you do.

"I blew it up," I smirked, winking at him and making him uncomfortable enough to avert his eyes.

I stepped into the room, and a lawyer and an officer had taken many of the women home. The officer who tried to shoot me was still here, avoiding the need to stare at Nexus without restraint.

I sighed and sighed harder, mad at the amount of problems I have found myself with, and it's only going to grow when I take over the other gangs. She could be one of the first to die, but if she's the sister to one of the most famous British movie stars in the world, I am going to assume that she's a petty love-struck, spoilt bitch, and those types don't die.

I took the bag of keys from my inventory and dropped it into Nexus' hand, smirking as she watched me with wide eyes and her mouth on the floor. The girls left had gathered into groups of two to four, presumably in their roommate groups. A small group of eight stood off to the side, staring at me with expectant eyes and pushing one of the more timid-looking, mousy girls in front of me.

Sophia snorted in displeasure from my left, and I hid my smile.

"We were hoping we could live alone," she stated quietly, and one of the others moved to grab her with annoyance and exasperation to pull her back.

I raised my hand to stop her and shooed her back, beckoning the first girl to come closer to me. The closer she walked, the smaller she got, and I realised she was shorter than Sophia, which wasn't an easy feat.

"Were you?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow at her.

"I, yes. Well, I would rather stay with someone else, but the other girls don't want me in their groups."

She knew she was quiet enough that we could only hear her.

Clever woman!

"How old are you?" I looked at Sophia and wondered if she was closer to my age than hers.

"I'm seventeen," I gasped and stepped back in shock, bumping into Orion, who grabbed my waist as if I would faint.

I damn near felt like I should have. What the fuck?

She can die down there for a few days, and her stupid brother can find her. I'm not taking her out until she is needed or is discovered.

"Did Magnus ever come down to the bunker?" I asked her suddenly, and every woman in the room turned to look at me in fear.

My eyes squinted, taking in a look I knew too well. I saw it on Rain's face before I blew up my saferoom.

Nope, he's dangerous. He has to be in the horde with his sister. Molly was with him…

'So?' Ad grumbled.

Don't do that. Even Rain said she wasn't into being a cat before.

It's hard to have faith in that girl; when I first heard her thoughts, she called Rain Daddy.

I shuddered hard and snapped my head to Devon at his shocking thoughts. He knows Rain forced me to say it a lot. It's his kink, not Molly's. My worry dissipated in an instant, and I bristled in anger.

"No, he never even went into the basement," she replied, her light brown eyes revealing confusion and relief.

"Tess, you can move in with me." Sophie nodded, and I smiled happily.

I decided to give them the house Rain had next door to me, but I only allowed him to store supplies that made his businesses look legit. I didn't want the houses around me to get raided every three weeks. There might be a fair number of valuable things in there.

'They have been cleaned. I hired a moving service to move everything into a warehouse at the end of the street. It's hidden behind a row of houses and is unlikely to be found during the apocalypse.'

Ah, I forgot about Rain owning that place. That day, I had to claim so many properties. You're getting better at this.

I went around the individual girls, switching to Devon's mind-reading power to check who would be the most capable of the grouped women and whether these individual girls would cause any trouble.

"If you have any families, you can tell them there are plenty of cheap houses here. Show them yours to prove they are high-end," I handed a list to an officer and a lawyer who had been waiting for around ten minutes, "The number on their keys matches the street in your list."
