Elio's Script Won't Go Wrong

Lin Shuang was being carried by the Doomsday Beast, and it felt like riding a roller coaster at full speed. Her head pounded from the chaos.

The silk thread was stretched taut. Lin Shuang used all her strength, but she could only barely restrain the Doomsday Beast, controlling its direction instead of stopping it outright.

"ROAR--!!!"

The beast twisted wildly in rage, wings vibrating as it flailed its limbs. Again and again, it slammed its body into the space station's protective shield, each impact shaking the structure. Even as it turned, aiming its back and neck at the barrier, it only had one goal—to shake Lin Shuang off.

Luckily, Himeko's drone and March 7th's arrows supported Lin Shuang. The six-phase ice left frost trailing along the beast's form, while the drones sliced through the air, their advanced cutting capabilities draining its energy.

"Damn it… How is it this strong?!"

Lin Shuang gritted her teeth, dodging frantically as she maneuvered along the Doomsday Beast's body, her silk thread never loosening. With all her might, she pulled the thread tighter, the raging flames of destruction corroding the beast's flesh. The once-mighty creature was weakening under its own fire, its state deteriorating rapidly.

But Lin Shuang wasn't in great shape either.

She had underestimated the sheer power stored within the Doomsday Beast—a colossal being that could traverse the universe with nothing but its own body. If this had been a straightforward battle, she wouldn't have feared it. The agility of her silk manipulation combined with Sui Yang's power allowed her to counter its attacks.

But trying to tame it?

That turned the fight into a wrestling match.

Her slender arms and legs weren't built for this kind of struggle.

Still, Lin Shuang held on, knowing that the Doomsday Beast couldn't escape the effects of the riding technique. Though its speed wasn't as fast as Mount No. 1, the flames consuming it were spreading rapidly. As long as she remained latched onto it, the battle would soon be decided.

Soon, it would be hers.

On the platform, the train crew watched the aerial struggle with a mix of awe and anxiety.

"The Doomsday Beast's strength has dropped significantly since Lin Shuang engaged it," Himeko observed. "She must have done something."

She, more than anyone, was attuned to the changes in the battlefield. The drop in the beast's power was so extreme that it could be considered halved. If this technique worked against the Order as well…

Then it made sense why Lin Shuang had been involved in the battle on the Immortal Boat.

Dan Heng, who had not fought the beast directly, could only vaguely sense something was off. He couldn't pinpoint exactly what, but the Doomsday Beast wasn't in peak condition anymore.

"Whoa, Lin Shuang's mount isn't from around here, is it? This is insane."

March 7th loosed another arrow before taking a brief moment to catch her breath. Even as she fired arrows and conjured six-phase ice to disrupt the enemy, she couldn't help but marvel at Lin Shuang's feat.

"If I had that ability, I wouldn't be able to resist doing something like this either."

Stelle, standing nearby, nodded in agreement. It really was cool.

Though… she wasn't sure she wanted to try it herself.

Just then—

The Doomsday Beast twisted violently and dove toward the space station again. But this time, whether due to exhaustion or sheer recklessness, it failed to see where it was heading.

This time, it was crashing straight toward the platform—and the train crew.

Lin Shuang pulled the silk thread with all her strength, trying to alter its trajectory, but the effect was limited.

Himeko immediately commanded her drone to intercept it, sending it straight for the beast's head.

"Brace for impact!"

"Here it comes—!"

March 7th pulled her bowstring to its limit, unleashing a downpour of six-phase ice swords.

Stelle and Dan Heng raised their weapons, striking with all their might as the beast hurtled toward them.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

March 7th's ice swords struck first, freezing large portions of the Doomsday Beast's head.

Then, Himeko's drone came roaring in, shattering the frozen surface while cutting deep into its carapace. Flames erupted from the wound.

BOOM!

The beast's vision blacked out as it crashed onto the platform, shaking the ground beneath them. It let out a pained, guttural roar.

"ROOOOAR--!!!"

It instinctively flapped its wings, trying to retreat, but Stelle and Dan Heng didn't let up, striking its face with relentless force.

Seeing their efforts, Lin Shuang exerted more strength, completely twisting the beast's head and neck, using its own momentum to keep it grounded.

As the dust settled, Himeko steadied herself, glancing around to ensure everyone was safe. Stelle and Dan Heng had successfully withdrawn as well.

"Phew… that was too close. Why did it suddenly lunge at us? Good thing I reacted in time," March 7th exhaled, her timely arrow having played a key role in stalling the beast's assault.

Himeko smirked at her. "Stay sharp. That thing isn't down for good yet."

Meanwhile, Lin Shuang wasn't aware of their conversation. All she knew was that the erosion of the Doomsday Beast was accelerating.

If her instincts were right, the beast was on the verge of breaking.

The Doomsday Beast seemed to realize it, too. Perhaps because she was too close to its brain, it suddenly became desperate, its struggles more erratic than before.

The antimatter engine in its chest flared to life. Ignoring the damage to itself, it unleashed waves of annihilation energy, attacking Lin Shuang in a self-destructive frenzy.

Golden beams of light burst from the void, surging toward her position.

Lin Shuang's eyes widened. She couldn't take this head-on.

Gripping the silk thread in one hand, she drew her greatsword with the other, swinging it down onto the beast's skull with all her strength.

BOOM—!!!

A devastating explosion erupted the moment the greatsword connected, flames tearing through the battlefield. The Doomsday Beast was forcibly knocked off course, its beams of light scattering in unintended directions.

Two of them, however, veered straight for March 7th on the platform.

"Are you kidding me?!"

Lin Shuang cursed under her breath.

She had come this far, wrestled this beast into submission, and was on the brink of making it hers—

And March 7th still had to trigger the fate of destruction like some scripted event?!

Was Elio's script really that foolproof?

No wonder the Stellaron Hunters let her do whatever she wanted.
