Chapter 10: Desert Temple

Following the small river forward, he stuck to the water's edge to avoid getting lost since he didn't have a map. There were plenty of sugar canes along the way, so he collected them as he walked, leaving the last block in place so it could grow back for future harvesting.

After covering some distance, he spotted a hill. At the foot of the hill, a few sheep were wandering around. He quickly approached, took out a pair of shears, and snipped away. The sheep's wool completely disappeared, revealing their bare skin, and the wool blocks fell to the ground.

"Finally, I got some wool! Now I can make a bed and rest!" Even though he didn't feel tired at all, it was nice to have a place to sleep.

Before long, all the sheep had been completely sheared. Since they hadn't taken any damage, they kept lazily wandering around as if nothing had happened.

Moving forward, he soon came across a desert biome. Yang Tao immediately ran toward it—there were desert temples in the area, and inside them were four chests, along with TNT traps. For someone who had next to nothing, that was a huge temptation.

His luck was on fire. Almost instantly, he spotted a desert temple not far from the edge of the desert. Grinning, he walked up to it, took out his pickaxe, and started digging from the top.

Yang Tao thought the decorative blocks on the temple looked beautiful, so he decided to take them all back to use as building materials. He wasn't planning to live underground forever.

He dug up all the blocks and wool from the surface, revealing a deep hole below. The four chests were sitting at the bottom, right next to the pressure plate that triggered the TNT trap. He had to be careful—not only would he lose the treasure if he triggered it, but his life would be over too.

Digging his way down, he created a staircase to safely reach the bottom. Then, he opened each chest one by one. He found a golden apple, two emeralds, and an enchanted book with Lure III—perfect for enchanting a fishing rod. The rest of the loot included bones, rotten flesh, string, gunpowder, and other monster drops.

"I've been walking for so long. Time to head back. My backpack is almost full. Oh, right, I almost forgot the TNT!"

After grabbing everything, Yang Tao left the temple ruins behind. The place was completely looted—anyone who saw it would feel heartbroken. He even took the stone pressure plate with him!

Following the same route back, he returned home, sorted out his items, and used the wool to craft two beds, placing them against the wall. If you're wondering why a single person needs two beds, it's because he likes rolling around when he sleeps!

With a "ding," a message popped up in the chat group.

Tony: "Thank you, Mr. Yang. I've finished watching all the story events. Everything up to this point has already happened. Right now, I'm in the terrorist cave, and they're forcing me to build a missile. Looks like I still have to follow the storyline and build the Mark 1 suit first. I need to figure out a way to keep Yinsen alive—staying alive is the only way to have hope."

"So it was that bastard Obadiah who betrayed me… I won't let him get away with it!"

Yang Tao shrugged. "You do what you think is best. I can't help you from here, and even if I could, I'm just a regular guy—I wouldn't be much use."

Tony: "No time to worry about that now. I'll agree to build the missile first and gather materials."

Inside the cave, Tony stood up and walked to the entrance of his cell. He shouted out loud, "Is anyone there? I've decided—I'll build you the Jericho missile."

It didn't take long before someone responded. A man stepped inside—it was the same person Tony had seen in the movie.

"Tony, you've finally come to your senses! You're a smart man. I'll have them prepare all the materials. Now, do what you're supposed to do! Understood?"

Tony put on a casual, indifferent look. "Of course, sir. No problem at all."

"Hmph! Tony, I know you're a genius, so your requests will be met. But don't try any tricks, or I'll make sure you regret ever being born."

With that, the man turned to his subordinates, instructing them to keep a close eye on Tony before walking out.
