Chapter 37: The Gathering

As a group of people arrived, Yang Tao received a new notification.

[New players detected. Do you want to add them to the whitelist?]

Yang Tao added everyone to the whitelist, and a new interface appeared.

It displayed information about everyone in the game and some settings:

- Allow movement?

- Allow block destruction?

- Allow block placement?

- Grant respawn permission?

That was all for now. Finally, Yang Tao knew whether he could respawn or not.

It seemed that he was the server owner in this world, controlling all permissions for those who entered. If he blacklisted someone, they'd be kicked out instantly. If he neither blacklisted nor whitelisted them, they'd be stuck in the spawn point forever.

He enabled all permissions for everyone.

"Look! The sun is actually square! I thought you were joking, big bro!" Naruto exclaimed, staring up at the sky in amazement.

Hearing that, everyone else looked up and saw a giant square sun hanging in the sky.

"This makes no sense! It's not scientific or even magical!" Tony's shocked expression was hilarious.

"Tony, whatever you do, don't bring science into my world. You won't be able to handle it!" Yang Tao smirked at him.

"Oh yeah, Tony, come here. I've got something fun to show you." With a mischievous grin, Yang Tao pulled Tony over to the water fountain he had built the day before. It was specially made for Tony. Since he loved research, let him try to figure out how floating water blocks and an endless stream of water worked.

Trying to explain science to me?

At this moment, Tony was already completely absorbed. Concepts like energy conservation and gravity seemed meaningless in front of this pool of water.

Leaving Tony to his research, Yang Tao turned to the others.

"Group leader, ever since I got here, I feel like I've been weakened." Whitebeard clenched his fist and swung it a few times. "It's not just a feeling—my Devil Fruit powers, speed, and strength are all restricted."

"Uh… well, my world doesn't have Devil Fruits, so let's just say they don't exist here." Yang Tao remembered that even the firearms he had bought before were nerfed in this world.

"Besides, like I said before, this is a game world. Think about it—if you could run 800 meters per second, players would only see a blur on their screens. No one would be able to follow your movements. That's why abilities have limits here."

"But don't worry, for now, this place is still safe."

"Wait, did you just say 'for now'?! What do you mean by that? Does that mean this world could become dangerous?" Ren Fa, who was quick to pick up on details, asked suspiciously.

"You're pretty sharp. But the 'danger' I'm talking about isn't the same as what you're thinking. Maybe I'm just overthinking things, and nothing will change." Yang Tao recalled how many players in the game added difficulty mods just for fun.

But he wasn't too worried—if there were monster mods, there would also be weapon mods. No game was unbeatable, after all. And at its core, *Minecraft* was still a sandbox building game.

At that moment, Tony finally snapped out of his obsession with the infinite water source and walked over.

"By the way, group leader, let me ask you something. Do you know the Ancient One?"
