Rebellion Against Heaven - Part 4

Chapter 4: Wrath of the Gods II

On the battlefield, Aiko felt the tension in the air. Surrounded by Archangel and Aurion, with the pressure of combat weighing on her shoulders, she knew she had only one choice: unleash her full power. Thanks to the arduous training with Ryuusei in the mansion, he had learned to control his Berserker Mode, but using it in a battle royale was another story.

Aiko had barely finished releasing her Berserker Mode when a crushing blow from Archangel hit her in the stomach. The force of the onslaught was so brutal that his body folded in on itself, feeling his organs compress and his spine creak. A stream of blood escaped from his mouth as his breathing stopped for a few moments.

Without giving him time to react, Archangel swung his divine spear with inhuman dexterity and plunged it into Aiko's side. The gleaming blade pierced flesh and bone with ease, causing its blood to splatter the ground in a crimson puddle. The girl roared in pain, but her regeneration kicked into action instantly, closing the wound in a matter of seconds.

"No matter how many times you try," Archangel whispered with terrifying coldness. You're no match for me.

Aiko gritted her teeth and with a shriek of fury raised her Black Herald sword, unleashing a dark ripple that split the air. Archangel dodged with superhuman agility, but before she could counterattack, Aiko launched a series of crazed slashes, each with enough force to split mountains. His sword left a trail of black energy as it tore through the ground, creating deep cracks.

But Archangel was not someone they could defeat with a fit of rage. With terrifying elegance, he deflected each blow with his spear, blocking with surgical precision. In the blink of an eye, he spun on his own axis and thrust into Aiko's leg. The spear pierced her thigh from side to side, causing her to stagger.

"Damn...!" Aiko growled, trying to make a downward cut with all her might.

Archangel smiled contemptuously. Before the sword could touch him, he kicked him directly in the face, causing his head to shake violently. A cracking sound was heard as his nose fractured, and blood began to drip over his mouth.

Aiko tried to compose herself, but Arcángel gave her no respite. He grabbed his spear with both hands and slammed it into his abdomen, embedding it with such force that the tip emerged from his back. A muffled groan escaped his lips as his body convulsed.

"You're just a child playing goddess," Archangel whispered contemptuously. And this is your end.

In a single motion, he tore the spear from his body, tearing apart flesh and organs in the process. Aiko fell to her knees, panting, her regeneration working frantically to keep her alive.

But before she could even look up, a golden flash rushed towards her. Aurion, the second hero, descended like a comet. His fist covered in holy energy struck with the force of a meteorite, sinking Aiko's head into the ground. The impact was so strong that the earth split in a radius of several meters, kicking up a cloud of dust and debris.

When the cloud cleared, Aiko was there, face down in a crater, her body trembling. His skin was full of cracks, as if his own regeneration could no longer keep up with the attacks. His bloodshot eyes glared at Aurion angrily, but Aurion only sighed indifferently.

"You're persistent, I admit," Aurion said, lifting his leg. But you've already lost.

And with monstrous force, he slammed his foot into Aiko's column, shattering it with a chilling snap.

Her heart-rending cry echoed across the battlefield. But there was no mercy. Archangel approached and aimed his spear directly at Aiko's heart, determined to end her life once and for all.

"It's time for you to disappear.

With a lethal movement, Arcángel launched his final thrust.

The edge of Archangel's spear descended like lightning, straight into Aiko's heart. At the last second, her survival instinct forced her to twist her torso in an inhuman spasm, causing the tip to only pierce her side instead of piercing her chest.

But the dodge was not perfect. Aurion, who still had his foot on his back, did not let her escape unharmed. With the speed of a predator, his fist shrouded in holy energy fell on his face.

CRACK!

The impact was brutal. Aiko's left eye exploded inside her socket with a wet, repulsive sound, leaving a bloody cavity where her crimson iris had previously been. A stream of dark blood gushed from the hole, staining the ground and his own skin. His jaw dislocated from the force of the blow, and for a moment his vision was completely blurred.

The pain was indescribable, but the worst thing was not the physical damage. The worst thing was the humiliation.

Am I going to die like this?

While his body trembled, his mind still had strength for despair. She knew that her regeneration could not save her forever. He knew that no matter how many times he healed, Archangel and Aurion were superior. But what they did not know was their deepest secret.

My weak point...

Inside his chest, beyond flesh and bones, he hid the key to his existence. If his heart was torn out, with it would come the Black Stone, the source of his power. Without her, his body would crumble like a soulless corpse.

But she didn't even have time to finish her thoughts when Archangel grabbed her by the hair and lifted her up like a rag doll. His body hung limp, his only eye open staring at him with a mixture of hatred and despair.

"Look at you," Archangel murmured with a disgusted grin. You're pathetic.

Without warning, he sank his knee into Aiko's abdomen with such force that his spine crackled again. Blood gushed from his mouth in a thick torrent, splashing across Archangel's face, but he didn't even blink.

Before his regeneration could repair it, Aurion reached out and, with a sadistic smile, plunged his hand into the wound that Archangel had opened for him earlier.

Aiko howled in pain.

Aurion's fingers tore through flesh and tissue as they made their way inside.

"What's wrong?" He whispered mockingly, sinking his hand inward. Weren't you supposed to be unstoppable?

The pain was unbearable. Every nerve in his body screamed in agony as Aurion squeezed inside him, searching for his heart.

No...

But his will no longer mattered.

Archangel dropped her to the ground, and Aurion leaned over her, his hand still inside her torso. His fingers found something hard and strange between his heartbeat.

"Oh... and this? He whispered with interest.

Aiko felt her body convulse. If the stone came out of his chest, his existence would crumble.

"D-De... "Have a — " he stammered, his voice choked with blood.

Aurion smiled.

"Too late.

And with a cruel movement, he sank his fingers even deeper and pulled with all his strength.

The sound of flesh tearing and bones breaking filled the air.

Aiko arched violently as her heart was ripped from her chest with a gush of dark blood, and next to it, the Black Stone fell to the ground with a sharp sound.

The battlefield fell silent.

Aiko was still breathing, but her body was shaking uncontrollably. His blackened veins throbbed as his regeneration tried in vain to restore an organ that was gone.

Archangel took the stone between his fingers and looked at it curiously.

"So this was your secret.

Aiko wanted to move, but her body was no longer responding. His one eye, filled with rage and horror, watched as Archangel lifted the stone with contempt.

"Without this, you are nothing.

And before his terrified gaze... He crushed it with his hand.

The crackling sound was the last thing Aiko heard before darkness enveloped her.
