Every family has that one person who is born as a sacrifice. For her family, that person was Selene Vale, who was to become a spare for her younger twin siblings success.

Orion hesitated, visibly torn, but after another second of internal struggle, he slowly began dissipating the barrier. The energy field flickered before vanishing completely.

Rose's expression twisted with triumph, his hold on Selene almost crushing as he let out a breathless laugh.

"I told you. Destiny is on my side. This is my win. And we are meant to be."

He said, his voice dripping with satisfaction.

But just as he took another step forward—

White-hot pain shot through his arm as Selene twisted it at an unnatural angle.

A strangled yell tore from Rose's throat, his confidence shattering in an instant.

Before he could even register what was happening, Selene drove her elbow into a precise nerve point, sending a searing shock through his body.

His grip failed and his knees buckled.
