Ch 134: An Abomination- Part 3

As soon as the three of them stepped into Madam Verta's tent, a sharp inhale filled the space, followed by a strained, almost pained groan.

"Stand back. Do not come too close to me, or I will start feeling sick." 

Madam Verta ordered, waving a trembling hand in front of her as if to ward off something vile. 

Her face twisted in visible discomfort, and for the first time since meeting her, Selene saw something that looked like genuine distress in the older woman's expression.

"The aura of death and apocalypse radiating from you is too much. It's making me sick."

Selene arched a brow.

She didn't apologize—why should she?—but she did take a step back, keeping a reasonable distance from Madam Verta to avoid any further dramatics.

However, a lot of questions popped into her mind because of this.
