Careful, Cassidy. I'm sure Logan made a mistake with what he said. He couldn't possibly be inviting me to lunch. I'm his employee, and there's no reason for him to accompany me for a meal unless he has something important to tell me. I felt his reluctance as if he was forcing himself to do this, perhaps because he might regret it later.
"Sit." He commanded, pointing to a seat at his six-seater dining table.
I complied with his command, and the view of the towering buildings outside caught my eye. I swallowed as he sat in front of me, arranging the lunch from the cart. He had taken off his long-sleeve shirt earlier, now wearing just a white v-neck t-shirt. I watched him place the utensils on the tissue.
"Uh," I smiled, waiting for him to finish. "Are you going to fire me?"
