Chapter 17

I can't understand him. He wants me to stay away from him, but he's the one giving me reasons to approach him. It's so hard to read him because his actions are so mysterious. I don't know where he got the idea that I'm falling for him. Can he see it on my face? In my actions? I don't know. All I want now is to avoid him because I'm irritated by how mysterious he is.

"Oh? Are you okay? You look pale," Sophie raised an eyebrow when I finally sat down.

"Ah, it's nothing," I replied, sitting next to her on the sofa.

"Where's Sir Logan, did you find him?" she asked.

I nodded and swallowed. I realized I only had two weeks left at Van der Bilt, so I wouldn't see him again. I'll be fine!

"Where? Why isn't he coming down?" Sophie asked.

"Oh, he's at the gym," I answered, reaching into my pocket for the phone Marcus had given me.
