Chapter 7

Faye's heart raced as she realized it was all true. She ran out of the hospital like a madwoman, desperate to get home and uncover the truth.

But she had forgotten that the sprawling mansion no longer held any trace of me.

She tried to send messages and make calls, but the glaring red exclamation marks stabbed at her eyes. Faye stood frozen, unable to believe that her Asher had vanished just like that...

Suddenly, Faye felt utterly drained. Using her last ounce of strength, she called her assistant: "Search, go find where Asher is!"

She collapsed to the ground, clutching the folder, and broke into heartbreaking sobs. Her heart was slowly rotting away, as if countless ants were gnawing at her insides.

The doctor said the patient's mood was poor.

Why was the mood poor? She knew all too well...

It was because she couldn't bear his weight gain from the steroids and his pale complexion. Blinded by desire, she had sought to release her frustrations elsewhere.
