-Now, let's go in order. - Hearing the story from Peter's mouth, Raine rubbed his temples from the literal bewilderment he was literally spreading at the whole situation.
-So you decided to ask Strange for help, and he, instead of explaining the nuances of the spell to you, decided to just act drastically. Okay, but when you were standing next to him, did you smell that herbal smell like strawberries? - Pierce asked, hoping for a positive answer.
-No, should I have? - Peter asked perplexed.
-I knew a grandfather in Kamartaj who made great herbal infusions that could get through even me. Unfortunately, he only made them on holidays and sold no more than a bottle per hand, but it didn't matter, but that would explain Strange's behaviour, but if he wasn't under the infusion, there were fewer and fewer options, and more and more questions. - Ryan said frustrated.
-For example, why did you decide that it is necessary to forget that you are a spider-man, and not, for example, who is Mysterio himself? If there is no Mysterio, then there is no one to post that video, so everyone does not know who you are, or am I wrong? - Pierce asked, watching the look of understanding on Peter's face and just a sea of shame and resentment at life.
-N-but...what about... -Parker just couldn't accept that everything he'd been through in those two days could have been so easily avoided.
-So you didn't think of that. Maybe Mr Lee has changed the recipe over the years. - Speaking into the void, Ryan said.
-All right with the fact that Strange got off on the wrong foot yesterday, and lost to you in the mirror dimension I can thinly still accept. It's just that maybe all the mental curses he'd caught over the years as a high wizard hit him at the same time, and he hadn't been fooling around for the last year and couldn't see it fast enough. - More to convince himself than to defend Strange, Pierce said.
-I don't understand why you're helping the villains in the first place. - Pierce asked, puzzled.
-But if you leave everything as it is, they will die back in their worlds, and everyone deserves a second chance. - Said Parker a little recovered from the last revelation and threw a challenging glance in the direction of the room.-Peter, you've been told "they'll die fighting the Spider"! And by fighting, I don't mean trying to incapacitate you like they did with the Vulture, but an analogue of what Mysterio did. These are dangerous people, apart from Octavius, Lizard and maybe Sandman. You must realise what you're doing to these people by "saving" them. I have magic, as you've already seen, and let's just say our brethren have the skills to see into other worlds. I have seen the fates of these villains and what led to them. Octavius is literally beyond saving, he built a device that created a small star near New York City that has begun to fail and if it is not drowned the city and possibly the entire planet will literally burn up. He and with and without control has only one option to go to the bottom with the device, and throw it can only his tentacles. The lizard inside is not a bad scientist, but he has killed several people and was about to spray the city with his technology to convert the entire population into his "next stage of evolution". Already for that he's going to be locked up for at least thirty years, and that's if his actions after the conversion are considered a side effect of the serum. And you know what happens next? A couple of men in expensive black suits will come to him and offer him a job with amnesty, of course he can try to refuse, but his family is outside and no one is guarding them. So soon Kurt Conors will die in an unremarkable prison brawl, and some organisation will get its hands on a scientist with an almost ready serum with a combat power superior to the Super Soldier project. Sandman isn't expecting anything positive either. He has a murder and several robberies on him and if now he can run away from the police and hide to protect his family, then after the "cure" he will simply find himself on a life sentence for numerous destructions and a series of robberies. And that's just the ones who aren't basically bad people on the inside. And you tried to heal others like him. - Said Pierce, kicking the Goblin's body at his feet. After the kick, the body twitched, but except for the hateful stare it gave nothing new.
-How do you know Conors will be treated this way? - Parker asked regretfully, looking at the situation from the sidelines.
-Because that's what was done to him in my world. - Calmly replied Ryan.
-So where were we, and exactly Osborne. I'm not arguing he's a sick man with a split personality, but does that make his original personality good? Don't be fooled lad, it's just a slight change with the villain getting the super prefix. Norman is a business shark, he built his company from the ground up and personally brought it to a level of greatness that rivalled Stark's legacy. Even the main revenue was coming from the same military projects. What do you think turned him into a goblin? - Noticing the void, Pierce continued the story.
-An accident? - Peter asked rather than answered.
-Huh, well, you could say that. He used an analogue of the super soldier serum on himself, he wanted to show the power of his weapon, but at the same time he didn't want to put it in the hands of other people. He killed the scientist in charge of the project, all of his shareholders who were about to sell the company, and he was going to get even with a lot more. Except Peter the person doesn't become evil abruptly, the new personality is built from what's in our subconscious and just pulls it out. You think "good" Osborne, after killing the shareholders and regaining control of the company, put his serum or part of what the company's money was spent on for sale? No he hid it all for himself, it wasn't a moment of weakness, it was his true nature. Unless you're a genius born once a century and personally create many inventions, like Stark Sr. or Jr., the creation of such a business does not do without wiping out dozens of people's fates and most likely murders with a sea of lawlessness. Norman went by the head and after taking the serum the only change was that he began to kill with his own hands instead of hiring others. Even if your doppelganger brings Norman back to the police, he can always say he was beaten, kidnapped and dressed up in that costume. And you know what? They'll believe him, not right away, but after the lawyers come in and open his wallet, there'll always be a dozen witnesses to his kidnapping. If he's cured, he won't get better, he'll just go on living with impunity. And I'm sure if he ran into trouble again, he wouldn't hesitate to re-enter the room with the Goblin Return Serum. - Piers leaned back in his chair and noticed how in the middle of his monologue the Goblin's gaze changed, signalling the return of his primary consciousness.
-But this is wrong. - Parker didn't sound too sure.
-Sure? What if a doctor comes out of there in a minute and says your aunt couldn't be saved? Would you still think he deserved to be saved? - Realising he was playing dirty asked Pierce. He wanted to convey to Peter the simple truth that not everyone should be saved and that people's lives are not equal. Killers like Goblin or Carnage deserve death and nothing more.
..." Peter's lungs felt as if all the air had been knocked out of him, and he shuddered again, feeling the fear he had felt when his aunt's body lay in his arms and he realised the hopelessness of his situation.
-What if I made one clarification? For example, that the Goblin will die from his glider trying to pierce the Spider, as he pierced your aunt? - Parker was finished, Pierce watching Peter's gaze on Osborn's pre-cut body as any compassion and animosity disappeared.
-Peter, they're not the ones who need help, you're not the messiah to risk your life and your loved ones every time a supervillain like this shows up. You didn't make oaths and vows, you're just a teenager who wants to do good but doesn't realise that not everyone deserves your help and salvation. - Said Pierce trying to get into the kid's head what he should have learnt months ago when fighting Mysterio.
-And Electro... what about him? - Peter asked after a while.
-Fell into a vat of electric eels and got superpowers and decided he was some kind of deity and blacked out the whole city. Caused multiple accidents, electrocuted hundreds of people and more by completely blacking out the city's hospitals. He'll only face the death penalty when he returns. - Pierce told the villain's story.
-So all my actions made no sense. Aunt May just happened to be in mortal danger, and I was trying to fix those who didn't want it. - Parker said in a stricken voice.
-Well Octavius and Conors probably wanted to regain control of their bodies, but it wouldn't have changed their lives much. - Raine tried to smooth things over a bit, because he knew it was better to slow down a little and not get the guy thinking that dragging the villains across town to his flat was an idea worthy of a Darwin Award.
Looking at the fully loaded guy I decided that Parker is enough revelations for now, and it's still not clear whether they can fully collect May, and given all the experience over the past months Peter has gained in the case of losing his aunt, he has a good chance of becoming Punisher number 2. But while the original was dangerous, he was mostly just a normal person, a vigilante with Peter's powers is a clear threat to most of the city's filth.
This is while the guy is playing with Stark's gimmicks and not so often uses the abilities given to him, but if you set yourself a goal to kill, he can quickly become a killing machine. Many people do not think that if Peter can stick and hold his whole body on one palm, what prevents him from grabbing parts of the villain's body? He can just touch any part of the head and use his strength to snap the neck of any person who has even passed through the reinforcements with a light jerk. And provide instant dislocations and broken limbs to others. Parker is the one who does not hold back and using his strength to the full can directly in the fight to peel off the skin of a person.
Spider powers give a lot of room for instant elimination of opponents and the fact that Parker has not yet used and developed it is a credit to those superheroes who have created the image of good guys who do not kill. But only in recent days, Peter, who never once did the world any harm, is more and more often pissed on, and society, which saved him many times and saw his deeds, simply turns a blind eye to it. Peter has hundreds of reasons to stop being a superhero, but as long as his Auntie and friends are around, he will save others. I just hope my words make him appreciate his life a little more and prioritise his priorities, especially when he gets out of that hospital and finds out that all the killing, looting and mayhem that the villains do will be attributed to Spider-Man... and although they'll be right this time, the ease with which he'll be labelled a villain will be astounding to the teenager.
After twenty minutes of silence, the doctor came out of surgery, and while Parker poked around for any information about his aunt's condition, I was distracted by the system's alert about the vampire's soul recycling. Opening my stats I saw my stats jump up.

The additions to the parameters were quite significant. Strength and stamina were added another hundred, and dexterity was added two hundred. That is, I literally became 12-13% stronger physically in an instant, which is quite pleasant. I haven't noticed any side effects yet, and if I don't hear anything about a rollback in the next month, I'm going to ask Emma for help in talking to the vampire. After all, if I was given such a boost for such a soul, what would I get if I managed to absorb one of the old men?
I wasn't really surprised, all the increases were mostly expected and logical, the only surprise was a couple of levels increase in the "teacher" skill.
