As the wind caressed my skin. I felt helpless, wishing right now that I was the wind free to go and do whatever it wanted.
I was marrying a vampire tomorrow, thought on what I should do, running away wasn't an option because I didn't even have or know where to go, I have never left the Gates of the castle for any reason ever but then I had an idea. Most kings and princes are keen on there wives being virgins before marrying them, if they'd found out that there would be wife was not a virgin, they would straight up reject her.
I stood in front of the mirror, my eyes blazing with a mix of anger and desperation. The Royals of Visecarri must be the same, right? I could go out and taint my virginity, and when they found out, they'd refuse to marry me. Father would be furious, Mother would probably disown me... but what did I care?
A little voice in my head tried to reason with me, "If you do it, you'll never get married to anyone ever." I scoffed at the thought. Better! It's not like I wanted to get married in the first place. I'd marry some rich noble or prince, have kids, and then what...? I'd fade into this land like other Queens and nobles, losing myself in the process.
I was going to do it and I was going to do it tonight before my wedding which Im sure won't hold after I do it.
I looked at my reflection in the mirror, I looked too much like a princess right now, if someone sees me, even though I've never been out in the village before but with the dress I'm wearing, they'd probably figure out in 10seconds that I'm from the castle and would probably tell someone who would alert father and he would come swooping in with a hundred guards, which would definitely ruin my whole plan.
I entered my closet, scanning through the entire place only gowns and gowns and then...more gowns, this wouldn't do. Mother had taken away the only pair of trousers I had, and that would have certainly done the trick. Walking out of the closet, I took a deep breath before I ripped the tail ends of the red gown I was wearing, which made an irritating sound to the ear before it fell to the floor, showing my legs up until my knee and a little bit of my laps.
I looked at myself once more, I still looked too prissy. Looking at the sleeves of the gown, I ripped them off, exposing my bare neck and chest and arms. I looked like a...I couldn't even say it
" Better" I murmured. I removed all my jewelry, the necklace, my earrings, and the silver pins holding my platinum hair in place, letting my hair loose with a few loose curls coming down at my face.
I looked at myself and smirked.
'Just any other random girl '. I tucked the loose strands in place and made my way to the door. I was about to turn the handle before I halted.
' What was I doing '
I was trying to escape and I am leaving through the door were guards are stationed at every corner of the castle. I was not supposed to leave the castle for any reason and not to mention how I look like a runaway rogue girl in red. I turned on my heels away from the door and made my way to the window. My room was situated very high above the ground. I wanted to jump but I thought better of it.
Pacing around I suddenly had an idea, I went back to my bedroom and took the long heavy blanket from my bed and went back to the balcony, tying in firmly on the cemented railing. I looked down but it only went half way. I sighed and went back to the room, looking for another that I can use as a rope for my getaway. I didn't see, so I removed my white bed sheet and went back to the balcony tying the bedsheet to the end of the blanket.
I looked down. It finally reached the ground. I dragged it again to check if it was steady enough, then removing my shoes and taking a deep breath I climbed the railings of the balcony. I looked down and swallowed, then taking a deep breath I jumped down holding on to the bed sheet rope! My heart is racing as I descend, the makeshift rope stretching to its limits. I feel a jolt of fear as the sheet threatens to rip or slip, but I some how manage to hold on, my hands burning from the friction.
As I near the ground, you slow your descent, trying to land as softly as possible. I hit the ground with a thud, rolling to absorb the impact. Dazed but uninjured, I scramble to my feet, gazing up at the balcony I just escaped from. Looking around l made sure no guards was in sight before I started running softly to the castle gates.
As I ran through the thick woods I finally came upon the village. It..it was not what I imagined at all, it was dark, everyone had either a scrowl or an unhappy expression on there faces and the village had a sad air around which covered it heavily making me feel more sad than I already was . I stood locking at the village of Feyar, it was my first time ever in this village. Although father was the king, I had never left the gates of the castle for any reason, which implies that no villager has ever seen me before. I was glad about this fact at least I could blend in. I always wanted to see the village and frankly looking at it now, I am disappointed.
King Julius wasn't just a bad father to Ophelia, he was a bad king to his people also. Ophelia pushed away this thought, she had to get this done fast before her father notices she's gone and comes here looking for her. But Ophelia had absolutely no idea what to do
Walk up to a random man and say
'please have sex with me tonight ' or ' take away my innocence so I won't marry a vampire ' or was there a place she could meet men who would willingly do it without any hassle.
She didn't even know her way about this village. She face palmed herself...
' I really should have thought about a Better plan ' she thought. Ophelia decided the first thing she needed to do was to ask directions, maybe someone might even help her accomplish her plan, she looked around at the various people walking around the village, and some shops at the corner but everyone of them didn't seem welcoming and looked like they won't be delighted If she asked any thing but she decided to push her luck. She saw a middle aged woman locking up her shop and decided to meet her. Ophelia walked up to her.
"Excuse me" she interrupted the woman politely. The woman turned towards her, she had dirty brown hair with a hints of white on the corner and sides, her face was wrinkled and her dark eyes scanned Ophelia from head to toe with a scrowl on her face making her face more wrinkled.
The woman clearly looked at Ophelia like she was a disgusting heap of mud. She was clearly considering Ophelia a slut with the way she was dressed.
"I wanted to ask for di-...". The woman ignored her and turned her back to her and continued locking her shop after which she turned around and started walking away.
' Rude!' Ophelia murmured and sighed. 'Ouch', she winced as she felt her behind hit the hard dusty ground. Ophelia cursed as she turned around to see the same woman who she had wanted to ask for directions, her back facing her and walking away like she did nothing.
Ophelia looked around and saw the other villagers ignoring her, not one caring to ask if she was alright or lend a helping hand.
Was this how the villages were?. And here she was thinking it was her mother and Charissa God has so very much blessed with bad manners.
The sight of a hand outstretched broke me out of my thoughts. I looked up to see a man...he was the same man that came with the Duchess of Visecarri to the ball earlier, which meant he was a vampire. If this man came with the duchess he must surely be one of them ,but what was he still doing in Feyar, duchess had said at the ball when king Julius was , her father was rambling. 'humans are annoying creatures and would like to leave this place as quick as possible '.
Ophelia looked at the outstretched hand once more before ignoring it and standing up.
'ouch, that hurt '
Ophelia looked up at the man with a shocked expression, who said that and had his hand touching his chest and was making a 'baby face ' . The man ..no vampire smirked seeing her expression. The vampire clearly came to he
'Why are you out so late ' he asked
