Chapter 6: Nady!
Throughout the way, Tony looked left and right and moved so slowly and so weirdly that Adamus had to ask multiple times.
"Are you sure?"
And multiples times Tony flinched and said.
"I'm sure."
'You don't look so sure, brother...' Adamus thought to himself and sighed.
He looked at his hands once again and then at his brother.
'Have I really fallen so damn low that I have people worrying about me?' Adamus thought again, a sad expression on his face.
'I have to find a way; there is no chance that the knight path and mage paths are the only ways to strengthen. If I have to make my own, then I will!' He firmly clutched his fists.
The thing was, it was a thousand times easier to follow a path than to make your own.
It wasn't a joke, it was true.
The path of the ones who had made the technique was detailed to the T, and all one had to do was follow the same actions to breakthrough, following instructions, and if the technique was good enough, and one's talent allowed them, it was not one bit hard to get as strong as the creator of the technique, or at least reaching the peak of the manual.
That was why people were not worried about choosing the technique, as after reaching a strong realm and getting more money, they could easily change to another technique and reach higher realms far easier than the first time and in a shorter time.
This was a flawless path until one was shackled by his own status, having to make contributions to the kingdom to get access to stronger techniques.
Still the time training was needed, and the potential of every man was hard, and most, if not all, the knight techniques in this town only took one to the Perfection of Principle.
That was the name of the first realm; it was known to everybody that every technique, be it for knights, mages, or even the mighty bloodline wielders and the primitive warriors, the first realm was called the realm of Principle.
Then starting from the legendary second realm, it varied depending on the technique and its creator.
Adamus had little knowledge as to why everything was as it was, but if he wanted to create his own path, he would eventually know.
In any case, he, the cockroach of Dandren, will certainly find a way to survive as always and then leave his mark on this world, a mark that will never extinguish.
This was all to show that what he planned to do wasn't easy, and he didn't even know where to start; thus, his current predicament and lack of confidence, it was like when an exam is in a few days and you don't even know the basics; that was his state at that moment.
"Look, we enter the house, you follow me closely and silently, don't make noise, don't look back, don't do anything, and most importantly... don't make noise." Before he knew it, he and Adamus were in front of a modest-sized house; it was just slightly bigger than his own and possibly as big.
If he didn't know that this brother of his had 4 siblings and one mother, he wouldn't be so weirded out.
"Brother Tony... are you married?" Adamus couldn't help but ask.
"As if!" Tony almost shouted, then he put his hand on his mouth and looked around frantically, weirding out Adamus even more.
"Let's go." Taking out the keys, he put them in with practiced hands, silently opened the door, and gestured for Adamus to follow him.
"If it isn't Tony." Suddenly, a voice was heard from inside the house, making Tony flinch and start shaking as if he were in the presence of a lion.
"Huh? You have a friend with you? Such a handsome man, come in, come in, make yourself at home. And excuse me, I didn't know someone would come; let me go change myself and I will bring something for you to eat." On the door, a hand held the door and spoke from inside; Adamus had only been able to see a face that was very similar to Tony's for a second before she hid herself.
"Please don't bother yourself; I'm only here with Tony and we had our fill before. I really can't eat anything more." Adamus replied with utmost respect, getting closer to take Tony's hand.
"That can't happen; at least let me prepare something for you to drink, otherwise Mother would be mad at me." She spoke and then entered inside, leaving the door open as if saying to Tony, don't think of making him leave.
Still, Tony sighed for a second and looked at Adamus with eyes that could pierce.
"Y-you have to go, now!" Tony shouted.
"Don't you dare!" A shout followed by a sandal and smacking sound hit Tony's face, almost sending him to the land of dreams.
Adamus stood there, sweat on his face.
'What did I get myself into...'
