Chapter 31 – Secrets of the Blood Moon
The sun barely peeked over the horizon when Selene awoke. Her body ached from the fight, but her mind was restless. Memories of the dark witch's chilling threat haunted her.
"The Blood Moon is coming… and when it rises, you'll be mine."
The words echoed in her head like a cursed whisper.
Selene pushed herself out of bed and dressed quickly. She couldn't just sit around — she needed answers. Cassian was still recovering, and Rylen was doing everything he could to fortify the packhouse. But this was more than just a rogue attack — this was dark magic, and it had something to do with her.
She hurried downstairs, finding Marcus in the kitchen. The elder healer was stirring a pot of herbal tea, his eyes heavy with exhaustion.
"Marcus," Selene said urgently, "I need to know everything about the Blood Moon."
Marcus set his wooden spoon down with a sigh. "I was afraid you'd ask."
