LOVE TRIANGLE
Jay-Jay's POV
I think this guy is tricking me. We got to school, but I didn't really listen, so I didn't understand anything. His story is long. Can I just give him paper, a pen, and an envelope so he can send it to Sister Charo? I didn't even realize where we were because of the length of his story. I'm not even sure if the details of his story still make sense.
"So, well... this is how my name invented... Ci-N." Graduation—him.
Finally!
"Wow... that's a good story again, you." I gave him a plastic smile. I just hope he doesn't think I'm being sarcastic when I say that.
But that face again, that smile again. He looks so childish when he smiles. He's also talkative, as if he never runs out of stories.
"Can I ask you a favor?"
I just looked at him and waited for him to speak.
"Can you buy me food from the cafeteria for lunch tomorrow?"
There you go! I remembered what I wanted to ask brother Angelo earlier. Good thing. Coincidentally, I also wanted to ask him something.
"Why don't you go to the cafeteria yourself?"
He gave me that smile again. "Nothing, just... lazy."
I sucked my gums in annoyance and looked at him. "Shh! It depends on you! There won't be anything left to buy later!" I quickened my pace to leave him behind, but he still chased after me.
"W-wait..." He looked at me. "When I say it to you, don't tell Keifer that I'm came from me, okay?"
"Yes… Promise. Hope you die." I said while raising my right hand.
"Hope? That's it, uh… promise till die." He scratched his head in confusion.
Does he have lice or something?
"Yes! That's all."
"It's not that we can't go... We can actually go. It's just that Keifer and Yuri banned us from the group."
I looked at him, confused. "You just said it's not allowed! They banned you…"
I shot him an annoyed look. This guy is frustrating to talk to.
"Oh, why did Keifer and Yuri ban you?"
He looked around first. We were already near our building, so there weren't too many students around. This was the Section E area, after all.
When he was sure there were no other students nearby, he finally spoke.
"Because of a girl... There was a classmate we had before you. She had been in our Section longer than the previous ones. She and Keifer became friends. The rumor is that she just used Keifer to get into a higher section, even though she did not pass the periodical exam."
I was even more confused. His story was getting further and further from my original question. A girl? Isn't that Ella Dianne?
"Wait! I thought the teacher was supposed to help transfer students? That's why Ma'am Zaragosa asked me to choose the Section."
"Because... it really depends on the average and if you have a backer, then it's a sure thing!"
Ahh… My grades and record weren't exactly outstanding before in school. That means the reason I was transferred was because of a backer. But who?
"Continue the story," I commanded him.
"Okay... So, that was the reason. When she got into the higher section, her behavior changed. She didn't pay attention to us anymore, and she embarrassed our Section. Then one day, Keifer saw her kissing a guy in the cafeteria. Keifer lost it, and the fight, he almost killed that boy."
Pfffttt… A girl?! Keifer's into guys?
"Then it happened two or three more times. The principal got angry and was about to expel Keifer, but he had a backer. So, they just banned him from going to the cafeteria or coming near the girl and the guy he fought with."
His explanation was so long that my head almost hurt. In the end, it turned out they just got into a fight in the cafeteria. But something still didn't make sense. How did the girl use Keifer to get into the higher section? Maybe because of her backer? Tsk! It must be Yuri.
"Eh? What about Yuri? Why was he banned too?"
He didn't answer. I stopped walking when I saw we were near our classroom. He walked a few steps ahead before stopping and facing me.
He was smiling. Smiling again?!
"That's my question..." I said to him.
"That girl was Yuri's chicks too. Yuri... He also got involved with that guy in the cafeteria multiple times. The principal got angry and attempted to expel him too, but—"
"There was a backer," I added.
He smiled again and continued walking.
Wow, intense revelations. A love triangle? Who were the girl and the guy Keifer and Yuri were fighting over?
The girl's hair was so long… I couldn't help but wonder. What shampoo does she use? But no, I don't think I want to know. It's none of my business anyway.
Aries's POV
Brother has been calling me for a while now. I already know that he has plans to bring me back home.
Not gonna happen.
"Hey, dude!" Kiko greeted me.
"What's up, dude?!" I greeted back. He sat beside me on the bench.
"I saw your cousin..." Kiko smirked. "She's pretty, far from what I expected."
I chuckled. "Are you just basing your judgment on looks?"
He also chuckled. "Sometimes... Is she really your cousin? Maybe yes."
I laughed briefly while shaking my head. "Stop this, Kiko. You'll regret it when you find out she almost killed you."
"You're kidding... right?"
I shook my head. He was looking at me seriously now.
"H-how?"
"My grandmother had a heart attack because of what she did."
Kiko looked completely shocked. Jay-jay? No freaking way!
"Once upon a time, I was with her. I held her hand..." He trailed off and walked away.
I'm not trying to put Jay-jay down, but that's the truth. And it wasn't just Grandma who almost died because of her. I clutched my chest. The pain, I still remember it. The way she acted that day changed everything between us.
That same day, I saw her fight someone bigger than her. She showed no fear. Her hands were covered in blood, and her eyes were lifeless. From then on, I saw her differently.
And to this day, I still think of her that way.
Keifer's POV
"What's our plan for her?" Felix whispered to me while looking ahead. "It depends… I have nothing in mind yet," I whispered back.
I saw Jay-jay turn to Ci-N. Someone told me they came school together. It looked like she had made him her friend.
Ci-N is friendly, but childish. He talks too much. Though that wasn't a problem in a fight. He could take on five people alone.
I don't know what they talked about, but I don't care anymore.
Jay-jay's POV
Damn! Just for the sake of getting answers to my questions, I let myself be tricked by that Ci-N.
And now here I am, walking into this den of chaos just to buy that idiot some food. I buried myself in my own misery so I wouldn't have to come here again.
Hey! Here I go!
As soon as I stepped through the door, everyone immediately looked at me. They stopped what they were doing just to stare, then started whispering. They were whispering so loudly; it seemed like they had microphones in their throats.
"Is that her?"
"She is from Section E, right?"
"A girl… and she's alone."
"Since when?"
I approached the saleslady. There wasn't much of a line. I told her Ci-N's order. He's getting some weird special meal—mango with bagoong, puto with dinuguan.
"Hi, Jay-jay!" Raki stepped beside me and waved.
I waved back but quickly returned my gaze to the saleslady. I wasn't in the mood to talk. Whatever.
"How's Section E treating you?"
"It's fine," I answered flatly, lacking any enthusiasm.
She pouted at me. "Are you mad at me?"
"Not really. Just… a little."
"Huh? Not really?" she repeated. "Ahh… I guess so."
Before she could say anything else, a group of students entered, laughing and making noise.
Raki and I turned to the door and saw Aries. He wasn't alone. He had a girl with him. She was stunning. She looked Korean, with long, silky hair and incredibly fair skin—Gluta? Her lips were naturally red, and her eyelashes were long. She looked like a celebrity.
"That's Section A," Raki whispered.
So Aries is from Section A. And the girl with him too?
They were heading straight towards us, so I quickly turned back to the saleslady. Their voices were getting louder. They were almost here.
Why is this taking so long, Sister?!
"Hi, Raki…" the girl greeted Raki, but I didn't turn to look at her.
Until they got close, and someone even bumped into me. They didn't even apologize! Seriously?!
"Hey, Raki, babe!"
"Fuck off!" Raki snapped at the guy who called her that.
"You're so rude! Wait— is that the new girl?" the guy asked. Damn it! Shut up! He moved closer and stood right in front of me. "Hi! I'm Kiko. You're Jay-jay, right?"
Wow! That was fast. How did he know my name?
I didn't want to face him, but it would be rude to ignore someone who was introducing themselves. Wouldn't I be the rude one then? At least a simple smile should be fine. Maybe I should force one.
I turned to him and looked straight at him.
Oh, damn. He's handsome!
Why is he so handsome? It's annoying!
